"We recently stayed 11days at this resort It’s a historic building located on One of Tuscany hills with beautiful surroundings It’s very serene . We watched amazing sunrises & sunsets over Tuscany hills & valleys sitting our terrace & on the lawns of this property . You don’t have to travel anywhere else in Tuscany to watch the beautiful sunset. We created wonderful memories staying at this beautiful property Outdoor is well maintained & has 2 pools including additional kids pool . Lot of outdoor space to walk & children to play Onsite restaurant was nice with Tuscan & Indian menu options. Tasty but not exceptional. Price comparable to other restaurants in nearby villages. Very Good buffet breakfast . Some nights we had live music. Because of the busy season we had to do several bookings to get accommodation for our family of 4adults & 2 small children. This meant changing every couple of days as they could not give us same accommodation through out our stay. Because of this We got to stay in several different accommodations. Essentially Karma group members get to stay in different part than Non Karma members . Each apartment / suites are of different configurations. Very nicely decorated. Both 1 bedroom & 2 bedroom suites and apartments are of good size well equipped, clean with comfortable beds & furniture . Only concern was that in one apartment we stayed, we did not feel it safe & suitable for families with very small children because of stairs with no safety guards & loft with low & wide railings . Loved the library in main building . Concierge staff are exceptional. Very pleasant , proactive & efficient. Very promptly handled all our requests & made arrangements for restaurants, tours etc. Highly recommended restaurants Agritourismo Colleoli , Pettiroso, Bacciomeo. Cons: 1. Transportation issues As resort is in rural area, Hiring Cabs from Pontedera or locally for trips is very expensive . You definitely need a car for independence , flexibility & to explore surrounding areas. Better to rent from Pisa or Florence airport. 2. More onsite activities for both adults & children Outdoor Tennis/ pickle ball court, mini golfing Indoor billiards For Kids sandpits, swing/ sliding equipment outdoor Indoor toddler play / activity area( similar to Three monkeys club in other karma resorts) 3. Some apartments need interior renovation & new fixtures Overall we had a very pleasant memorable stay in this resort located in beautiful surroundings. Highlight of our stay were watching sunrise & sunset over Tuscan hills"

"Hotel located on the hills from which you get a breathtaking view. The staff is immediately very welcoming and you immediately feel treated like one of the family. Dinner is served at a table and you find yourself conversing with the other guests of the hotel, giving you the feeling of being among friends and therefore involving you in a very beautiful and relaxing dinner. Our room was very large, with a fireplace typical of old farmhouses. The furniture also takes you back in time and you feel like you are entering those years, when the beds were high and made entirely of wood and you slept very comfortably on them. Recommended."

"We stayed at Villa Lena to watch the Andrea Bocelli concert. The hotel increased its prices for this event. We felt that €700 a night is far too much for the quality of the rooms, the service and the food. Reception staff announced on arrival that as they are so busy housekeeping would not replace towels or provide normal services! Francesca manning the pool bar is just fabulous! Also a call out to the gentleman waiter. However as this hotel is so rural you really need to stay there or drive a long way to other restaurants. Because of this we decided to stay for their pizza night. €75 a couple. This was truly disappointing verging on awful. The breakfast was very basic, awful coffee and all cooked added as an extra cost! Overall our feedback is that at a normal price the quality of food, service could be forgiven but at 5 star prices we feel we’ve over paid and we couldn’t wait to leave.p"
