Hotel Gianna ★★★★

"This is a lovely old school family run hotel. Most of the staff seem to have been working here for some time which is often a good sign. A lovely friendly bunch. One or two slightly quirky bits bit that just adds to the charm of the place. The locations is good but just on the edge of town so a 10 minute walk into the very centre. We were half board and the evening food was varied and lovely with a locally sourced focus - I think this is a good option for those staying here. We were snow walking rather than skiing on this trip. The town is well geared for this with about 15 marked walks and maps available in the hotel. This was the first time we had done this rather than ski but a lovely variation to getting into the quiet parts of the mountains away from the noise of the pieste. Post exercise use of the spar was great - lovely outdoors sauna and hot tub as well as the rest, steam room and swimming pool etc inside the hotel. My two minor feedback issues are 1. The internet was really poor (I know that me be out of your control) but phone signal was fine. 2. If you are brit take a kettle and tea, not in the room. Overall, I felt this was great value for money. Many thanks for making our stay a really enjoyable experience. We are already talking about coming back next year."

"For the 2nd year running, the hotel cancelled our reservation for 12 people just 6 wks before our ski trip. Absolutely shocking management and service! No help was offered in trying to find alternative accommodation in Madonna. Disgusting!"

Hotel Chalet all'Imperatore ★★★★

"I with my wife, children and friends (six people) spent a wonderful week in Madonna. Chalet All'Imperatore exceded our expectations. A great location, restaurant, caring staff made our stay so unique. Pavel at the restaurant was the best! My daughters liked pastas and deserts so much! The room with a balcony and nice views was great as well as the spacious spa and the hot tub outside in the snow. Above all, we felt at home. It is hardly surprising considering that All'Imperatore is a real family business where the owners manage bar, reception, restaurant and drive the shuttle. We regularly ski at Madonna. The last hotel before All'Imperatore was Spinale with the best location there, the next one was Cristal Palace with the best views, yet All'Imperatore proved to be the absolutely best one. We are looking forward to coming back there."
