"Beautiful inn, more like a hotel! Several attractions and room options! It has several swimming pools, river access, free massage chairs, games room, burger joint, restaurant, pastry shop, room service, gym, spa… super complete and with premium service. Great breakfast every day with many options. A little far from the city but with a great location if you have a car, I found it very strategic. I would definitely return!"

"This hotel is in a great location, easy walk to the old town but not too noisy at night and handy for local amenities and shops. It is set around an attractive courtyard and all the rooms look out onto the pool. The room was rather on the small side with no sitting area, not really anywhere to put the cases and only some hanging pegs. Having said that it had a fridge and a safe (with a very old fashioned key) and it did have AC but this was extremely noisy. It was really hot when we arrived as they had left the window open but it soon cooled down. There was also plentiful hot water in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. There is a grating between the bathroom and the corridor which can't be isolated and if there are other noisy guests it's very audible. Reception were a little bit lacklustre but the guy who looked after the breakfast was amazing, so friendly and helpful, and also had better English than the reception staff. Breakfast was good for a small hotel, with plenty fresh fruit and a selection of interesting breads and pastries. There was some hot food and they could make you an omelette. The selection changed every day, and they will cut up exotic fruit from the bowl for you. The pool was very nice and warm with some seating around it. Unfortunately the hotel is big enough to take small groups and this meant breakfast could be crowded and noisy if you hit the same time as the group."

"A very poorly maintained guesthouse. The ad photos show the best angle of each feature. But once you're there, you start to see that everything isn't as advertised. The room, while spacious, has several areas for improvement. The electric shower needs maintenance... It doesn't deliver much water even when turned off; the water tap has more electrical tape than it should, making it dangerous to use; the mattresses are old and in need of cleaning; the TV installation has exposed wires and is made in a makeshift manner; the air conditioning needs maintenance and has a low capacity for the room size. In the outdoor area, despite the game room, everything is in terrible condition. The pool table has missing tips, torn pockets, and the floor is full of holes from the pool ball constantly falling off the table and hitting the floor. The only positive point I found was the pool... which is good."

"Such an amazing experience staying here. It is located central to the entire Historic Centre. They are extremely accommodating and welcoming—every single staff member we interacted with so kind and professional. The grounds are stunning—photos online do not do it justice. Breakfast was amazing every morning. We also enjoyed lunch and dinner at their restaraunt on numerous occasions. We would definitely return and would 100% recommend to a friend :) Thank you all again."

"We loved the location and the proximity to the town and beach. The room faced the pool and was charming. However, we did not expect to find the dining and pool areas full of school children on a residential trip. I think this could have been pointed out to us in advance as it made lounging by the pool anything but relaxing."

"We were very well received at the inn! João and Rafaela treat guests with great affection!! And to make the inn even more charming, there's Moah, a Golden Retriever who lives there bringing love to everyone, besides Raio and the other beautiful dogs that appear there. My rating wasn't excellent because the inn is quite far from the city center and access to it is very difficult! The inn is in the middle of the forest, so it has a perfect environment to literally connect with nature! And it really is literally that way, haha. It was a pleasant experience!"

"The room cleaning wasn't the best, the bathroom had a leaking toilet, low water pressure in the shower, a clogged drain, and the bathroom had no cold water and very little water coming down to fill it."

"Simple accommodation close to the historic center. However, I missed some care... the shower was old and had little pressure and the jets went one on each side (a simple cleaning would make a lot of difference). The air conditioning in the room I stayed in was quite noisy and disturbed my sleep (I couldn't keep it on). The Wi-Fi didn't work at all in my room. The sheets had some stains, but the mattress was at least good. Breakfast with good variety and service from the girls at reception very attentive and friendly."

"The Pousada Valochouto in Paraty immediately strikes you with its excellent location, ideal for visiting the historic center and getting around easily on foot without the need for public transportation. Another very positive aspect is the spacious and comfortable room size, significantly above average for this type of accommodation. Also noteworthy is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, always friendly and ready to offer helpful advice, as well as the beautiful, well-maintained and sunny pool, perfect for relaxing during the hottest hours of the day. Among the less convincing aspects, breakfast is served only from 8 a.m. onwards, which is a bit late, especially for those with excursions or early departures. Furthermore, although the room has a window, it is not enclosed by glass but only by wooden paneling, a detail that makes the room quite noisy and can affect the quality of your sleep. Overall, a pleasant property for its location and hospitality, but with some areas for improvement."
