The shower faucet was sealed with duct tape, and the bathroom drain in the upper apartment was discharging water into the apartment where I was staying. Breakfast was swarming with ants and flies, and the dining room chairs were wobbly and broken. The hot tub was filthy. The mirror was moldy..."

"I stayed in one of the rooms at the back of the garden, next to the kitchen. I checked in late and was very tired after a long drive, but the staff welcomed me well, provided clear instructions, and allowed me to park on the street. The room is quite small, but it was acceptable for a one-night stay. However, the external AC unit mounted on the wall was very noisy whenever the neighboring room turned on their air conditioning. This significantly affected my ability to sleep. I reported the issue to Fernando, who appeared to be the person in charge, but my request for a refund was refused. I was told they had never received a complaint about the noise before. Unfortunately, this did not change the fact that the noise was constant and disruptive. As I arrived late and had no alternative, I had to stay, but I did not sleep well. On a positive note, the breakfast was good, and Daniel’s complimentary cocktail was the best part of the stay. Thank you, Daniel! Paraty offers many accommodations with good breakfast and better comfort, so I would recommend considering other options."

"It is a great place to stay in Paraty. Stayed only one night, but could’ve easily stay more. Very welcoming place. Got a twin room on the second floor, large enough, with powerful air conditioning. The room had unusual water heater / shower combo, but it actually worked well. There is a closed area for parking which was very convenient. Breakfast was good, plenty of food, all the typical things you would get in a Brazilian hotel."

"The Pousada is located in area out of Paraty You must have a car to be able to go around to the city , once arrived at the hotel they trying to get as much money as they can offering upgrades etc , during our time they was a night that Brasil play at the World Cup and to enjoy the Bar you needed to pay 37 usad to be able to set at the bar There was a public area like the bar that is to be used in all guests every night but they close it for the game this not correct If you planing just to relax by the pool and enjoy the facilities but if you wish to travel around you maybe better taking other place at the city center"

The hotel has a very special charm and warmth. Every space feels thoughtfully designed, with exquisite décor that is perfectly in keeping with the character and atmosphere of Paraty. Everything has been curated down to the smallest detail, creating an elegant yet wonderfully welcoming environment. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and cozy, and we particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches provided for guests, such as the beach basket and towels — just one example of the attention to detail that can be felt throughout the entire experience. The staff deserves a very special mention. They are outstanding: highly professional, yet genuinely warm, attentive and always willing to make each guest’s stay as enjoyable as possible. Maria Sol, Martín and Gabriela, in particular, were absolutely wonderful and made us feel exceptionally well looked after. Breakfast was another highlight. Prepared freshly to order, it was varied and beautifully presented, with delicious specialties and ingredients of excellent quality. It felt much more like a carefully prepared dining experience than a standard hotel breakfast. The location is perfect for enjoying Paraty, and the overall concept of Casa Turquesa is truly remarkable. It combines sophistication, comfort, authenticity and personal attention in a way that is increasingly difficult to find. A memorable stay and a truly exceptional boutique hotel. Casa Turquesa is one of those rare places where the experience itself becomes part of the journey. We would return without hesitation."

"The Pousada Valochouto in Paraty immediately strikes you with its excellent location, ideal for visiting the historic center and getting around easily on foot without the need for public transportation. Another very positive aspect is the spacious and comfortable room size, significantly above average for this type of accommodation. Also noteworthy is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, always friendly and ready to offer helpful advice, as well as the beautiful, well-maintained and sunny pool, perfect for relaxing during the hottest hours of the day. Among the less convincing aspects, breakfast is served only from 8 a.m. onwards, which is a bit late, especially for those with excursions or early departures. Furthermore, although the room has a window, it is not enclosed by glass but only by wooden paneling, a detail that makes the room quite noisy and can affect the quality of your sleep. Overall, a pleasant property for its location and hospitality, but with some areas for improvement."

"Excellent stay! Attentive officials, clean rooms and great size. Very beautiful architecture, immersed in nature. Silent hostel, great to enjoy the sounds of nature and is still well ahead of the beautiful Perequí Açu river. Two swimming pools: one outdoor, cold and the other, covered and heated, one delicious. Silent location and about 15 minutes walk to the historic center. Note 10!! I recommend!!"

"I don’t give a five star easy but this time the combination of hospitality, the rooms, the building and location made me give this review (and I visit around 50 hotels in a yearly basis around the world). The hotel is located in a colonial style building which is very nicely renovated. The location is great and it takes only a few minutes to walk to the old town of Paraty. The rooms are not too big but the layout is very good. The beds are comfortable and the shower is warm and provides a lot of water. Breakfast is in a nice open location in the hotel and there’s a lot to choose from."
