"I liked the hotel. The balcony is very comfortable and welcoming – a table, chairs, and a sofa. The sea is stunning! The beach is clean, the water is turquoise. Everything works in the room. It's clean! I'm a little tired, but so far so good. The food was à la carte. Delicious! I liked that the chef interacts with each guest. The menu is more European (onion soup (good!), pumpkin soup, pork with sweet potato puree), but Sri Lankan cuisine is always present in the main course! Shrimp was always on the menu. For Sri Lanka, the hotel is good. It has its own atmosphere and ambiance, which is what we come to this country for. This isn't a European 5-star hotel. Sri Lankan – yes! The restaurant staff is sometimes overly attentive. Since the hotel wasn't very busy, there was too much attention."

"We have visited Uga Bay by Uga Escapes three times now, and it continues to be a place very close to our hearts. It’s truly one of the most beautiful destinations in Pasikuda, with breathtaking sea views and an incredibly peaceful atmosphere that helps you completely relax. This visit was especially meaningful as we came to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it also holds memories from our honeymoon. The team did a lovely job arranging the room upon arrival, and the overall ambiance, beach, and scenery were just as magical as we remembered. Traveling 6–7 hours to reach here is always worth it for the experience. However, this time we were quite disappointed with a few aspects of the service, which felt very different compared to our previous visits. We requested a late checkout extension from 11:00 AM to around 1:30 PM so we could enjoy a bit more time, especially since we had a long journey ahead and were on a full-board package with lunch included. Unfortunately, the response was simply “no,” with no real attempt to accommodate or offer alternatives—only a small extension until 11:30 AM. While we understand that the hotel may have bookings, what was disappointing was the lack of flexibility or effort to provide any alternative solution. As returning guests celebrating a special occasion, we expected a bit more consideration or at least a willingness to explore options. Additionally, during our previous visits, we were able to enjoy shisha by the beach, which added to the overall experience. This time, that request was declined without much explanation, which again felt inconsistent with the level of service we had experienced before. Uga Bay remains a stunning and special place, and we still love the property deeply. However, the service this time did not match the standards we had come to expect over the years. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and brings back the level of hospitality that made us fall in love with this place in the first place."

We sincerely thank Chef Keerthi for baking a beautiful cake for us, preparing a very lovely and delicious dinner, waiting for us until we came for breakfast, and giving us an unforgettable meal without any shortage in food and drinks.
