"My family and I have visited Kerala many times over the years, and every trip has strengthened our admiration for the state’s hospitality, honesty and wonderful people. We have always returned with beautiful memories. Sadly, our experience at Hotel Indraprastha, Kozhencherry was completely different. To be fair, the hotel itself was clean, our Suite Room (302) was spacious and comfortable, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. In fact, I had every intention of giving this hotel a 5-star review after our trip. Unfortunately, everything changed after we checked out. While leaving the hotel, we accidentally forgot a large quantity of premium imported chocolates (worth approximately ₹5,000) inside the mini refrigerator. We realised our mistake three days later and immediately contacted the hotel. The way the situation was handled was far more disappointing than the loss of the chocolates themselves. During my very first phone call, a member of the reception staff suggested that the next guest may have taken the chocolates. I found this extremely unprofessional. Without any investigation or evidence, how can a hotel suggest that another guest may be responsible? Later, the explanation changed completely, and I was simply told that nothing had been found in the refrigerator. These contradictory responses only increased my concerns. I then sent a detailed email requesting a proper investigation and asking several specific questions about what happened immediately after our checkout. My email received no response until a friend of mine personally visited the hotel. Only after that visit did the Front Office Team send a brief generic reply stating that they had checked the room and found nothing. None of the important questions I had raised were answered. I replied again requesting clarification and asked that the matter be reviewed by senior management. That email has never received a response. At this point, the issue is no longer about chocolates worth ₹5,000. It is about how a genuine customer complaint was handled. Guests can accidentally leave personal belongings behind. I fully accept that forgetting them was our mistake. However, a hotel’s professionalism is measured not only by its rooms and cleanliness, but also by its honesty, accountability and the way it responds when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, I felt that my concern was simply ignored. I am not accusing anyone of taking my belongings, because I cannot prove what happened. However, I am absolutely certain that we left the chocolates in the refrigerator before checking out, and despite repeated follow-ups, I never received a proper investigation or a satisfactory explanation. Cleanliness alone does not make a great hotel. Trust, integrity and responsible customer service are equally important. Unfortunately, in my experience, those qualities were missing when they mattered the most. If you decide to stay here, I strongly recommend checking every drawer, cupboard and especi"
