Doryssa Seaside Resort
"Sadly our stay at Doryssa Bay, a supposed “5 star resort” in Samos last week- was a disaster. Firstly, some side points to raise include mould in the bathroom, broken patio door and intermittent AC of which I have attached photos - I was fobbed off with an explanation that the mould was black paint! Not enough sunbeds for the number of guests and towel policy were a joke as were the overpriced restaurants on site, the metal bunk beds uncomfortable and request for duvets on the bunks were denied for the children. They instead had thin, scratchy blankets. But of most concern was that on our first night (of a five night stay) we left our room at 7pm to have dinner outside the resort - when passing reception, I requested fresh towels in the room. On our return to the room at around midnight, we found the door had been left wide open/lights left on (presumably by house keeping when dropping off the towels). I am a solo female travelling with my three minor children and this was extremely traumatic. The children were terrified that we had been broken into and that someone had tampered with their belongings or were indeed still in the room. After checking the room and our belongings were ok, I managed to calm them down to stay in the room. Because of the late hour and in order not to disturb the children any further, I informed reception of the disturbing incident first thing the next morning. The response from Doryssa was non existent. I had to chase them via emails and go back to reception several times before they even acknowledged the situation. Till today, I have not received an explanation of what occurred. They eventually offered my family dining vouchers for the dinner buffet which we declined as we no longer felt comfortable or safe on the premises. It took until after we checked out of the hotel for the manager to get in touch and admit the security breach was completely unacceptable. Our entire holiday was ruined as I had to spend most of it chasing an appropriate response to the breach which was initially described as an “inconvenience”. The hotel completely failed in their basic duty of care to us as guests and were negligent with our security. I will not be returning and certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their safety and security on holiday or anyone with children. Furthermore, I am disgusted by the way my family was treated afterwards, pretty much ignored until we chased for a response over and over again. 0-star security and 0-star service from Doryssa Bay."
Doryssa Boutique Hotel
"I loved the place the first time i got there, the entrance reminded me a lot like wild West. The pool area was really really good, especially the night when it was lightened and very clean with comfortable sunbeds. Very relaxing. My room was very good and clean, i liked the architecture of the place a lot, it is very edgy. I tried the gym too, very clean too. The stuff was ok to me and seemed happy to help. Breakfast was alright. I would totally go again"
Hydrele Beach Hotel & Village
"The room and cleaning really good. The beds where for me just fine, good quality! The pool just ouside our room was clean and same with the sunbeds. People in the reception was a credit to their proffession, over and beyond! Their in house rental of cars is competetive and the cars are good! On a personal view I would prefer a scooter 125cc for drive around on the island but the Micra works just fine🙂 I do find the food to be good and the kitchen personal friendly, most of the waiters / waitresses one was rather hunting we had payed 4280€ for 3 weeks including breafast and dinner coffe and softdrinks are included with breakfast but only plain water with dinner and price for coffe and sparkling water for 2 was close to 20 € and the way we where made aware of that was not so fun a sour feelling sadly I would understand paying extra for beer, wine, spirits lol but 20€ per day for sparkling water and a cup of coffe.. Btw we had several days on wheels around I liked my stay here otherwise worth the money. Next year 3 weeks at Method 🙂 Happy summer 😎"
Doryssa Theorem Hotel
"A wonderful hotel with perfect renovation and excellent service and a delicious varied breakfast. In a quiet place, but two steps from the pier (which was important for us, as we arrived by ferry from Turkey) and the embankment with taverns and the beach. All the staff are very friendly. We will be happy to come again."
Casa Cook Samos - Adults Only
"My stay at Casa Cook Samos was truly remarkable. I had the pleasure of staying in a beautifully designed and impeccably clean double room with a beach view that felt like a home away from home. The real highlight was waking up to the breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea. The exceptional service provided by the customer relations manager Maria, the Beach House staff, and driver Dimitri made the entire experience even more enjoyable. See you soon Casa Cook fam!"
Doryssa Lithos Hotel
"Lovely stay at the lithos. Maria the manager was so warm, friendly and accommodating. It was my partners birthday while we were staying and helped out with decorating the room and booking a nice restaurant. All the staff were lovely, Jessie never stopped and literally did everything and eleni was lovely at the pool bar. The location was perfect for us, yes there is steps down to the harbour which are very steep but you can walk along the road into town and back again at a leisurely gradient. The only feedback I would give is to the colour of the tiles in the newly renovated pool, they are yellow and this made the water look greeny/yellow which isn’t very appealing and maybe some more shade for breakfast, especially in the summer months. However we would definitely stay in this lovely hotel. The staff were amazing."
Proteas Blu Resort
"Nice clean hotel with excellent customer service. The breakfast was good in fact too much choice of different cold and hot food. The restaurant food was nothing special and would be better with a more international choice. The gym was very small no hand weights and one running machine out of order.Needs some TLC.Nice swimming pool but a bit on the chilly side. All the sunbeds and I mean all of them provided very poor shade from the sun. We were given an upgraded room to a chalet with a reasonable veranda which had sun shine the whole day.The room was simply but modernly furnished although the shower wets the whoke of the bathroom floor. The room contained a fridge which was useful but no hot water kettle to make your own drinks. The hotel is built on a steep hill so you need to be in good shape to get to the main building and back a few times a day or indeed the swimming and sun bathing area down by the beach. Pathagorio was a 30 min walk into town if you want to brave the busy windy road that has almost no pedestrian pavements. The alternative is to take a taxi which reception will organise for you at €8 each way.I would suggest the hotel provides a bus to and from town twice a day for a small fee.Pathagorio is a nice small town but you need to shop around for food at a reasonable price. One day we took a trip to Kusadasi and Ephesus from Samos.Another day a local bus trip to Vathi €1.90 each way"
Nisea Hotel Samos
"Anastasia and the Nisea Hotel team provided service that went above and beyond what you could expect in order to provide an amazing experience. Everything was brilliant and can't be more thankful. We had a great stay here and definitely recommend for anyone looking to visit Samos. Thanks!"
Jimmy's Apartments
"A small, clean property with basic rooms, but nothing is missing. The only drawback is the long climb up from the port. We stayed there twice. The first time, we had room 4 with a small balcony and a nice sea view. The second time, room 6 was a cubicle with a tiny window that couldn't even be kept open because it faced the stairs, where other guests could stick their heads into your room. This room isn't worth the price; it's outrageous. So, if you book here, be careful. The exterior is poorly maintained."
