"The is a basic but comfortable space that our family of 4 stayed in for two nights. It’s in a great location for walking to lots of restaurants, bars, and the beach. The owners were extremely helpful and easy to communicate with.We enjoyed our short time in Placencia."

"I have stayed at Serenade Hotel in the past and have always appreciated the warmth and hospitality of the permanent staff. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which I understand are necessary for improvement. However, my most recent experience during this transition was mixed. Manager Lulu continues to demonstrate professionalism and genuine care for guests. Sobo in maintenance and Sila in housekeeping are also consistently kind, considerate, and accommodating within their abilities. The core team clearly values the guest experience and works hard to maintain a welcoming environment despite the disruptions that renovations naturally bring. Unfortunately, my interaction with the renovation crew was disappointing. I was feeling unwell and simply asked how long they anticipated working directly outside my room so I could plan a short nap for recovery. I did not expect work to stop — only that the loud chatter and laughter be kept to a minimum since I was literally resting on the other side of the wall. The response I received felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I later overheard Manager Lulu respectfully addressing the matter, and it was disheartening to hear her concerns dismissed as well. Because of the way the situation was handled and the lack of respect shown to the manager on duty, I chose to elevate the concern to one of the property owners. The owner came and spoke to the renovation team calmly and professionally, explaining that the work itself was completely acceptable, but that it was inconsiderate to be directly outside a guest room talking and laughing loudly. At no point did the owner raise his voice, use profanity, or behave disrespectfully toward the temporary team. Renovations are understandable, but professionalism and courtesy toward both guests and hotel staff should remain consistent at all times. It was disappointing to witness members of the core team — who clearly care about their roles and the guest experience — being treated with disregard by a temporary repair crew. I sincerely hope that once renovations are complete, the respectful and peaceful atmosphere upheld by the permanent staff will be fully restored, as they truly deserve recognition for their dedication and care."

"A small luxury resort that’s wonderfully understated. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept by friendly staff and the service throughout was excellent. Great food, great day trips. The costs are a bit high by Belize standards but not exorbitant - and helped by the 2 for 1 happy hours where we met some great people!"

"We recently returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at ALux k House ( # 4). This upstairs 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was perfect. It was exceptionally clean when we arrived. It had a full kitchen with every appliance you could want. The bedroom has a full closet with a safe, - plenty of hangers, very comfortable mattress, bed side reading lamps which are a necessity for us. The bathroom had a great shower, always hot water and lots of shelf space for our toiletries. And the woven bath towels were amazing. I am going to order a set for my own bathroom . The owners also provided, extra tooth brushes, paste, razors, QTips, & cotton balls, as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The living room has a large smart TV with PRIME streaming included. We were able to watch all our favorite news shows through UTUBE. The air conditioner and ceiling fans kept us cool. Our favorite “room” was the spacious deck right out side the living room. It was perfect for morning coffee ! There is a table where we played cards and had happy hour. There is a second seating area with a love seat, 2 chairs and a table. The fan was also a plus. We used the plunge pool to cool off even on the days we went to the beach. We also had the use of beach chairs and towels that were easy to carry the very short walk to the beach. There are plenty of palm trees to sit under for shade. We also had use of the washer and dryer which was a bonus since we had been traveling inland for a week and needed clean clothes ! The staff was great. There was always someone on site during the day. We asked for a cleaning service once during the stay but could have had more. There are outdoor motion sensors for lights which was greatly appreciated when walking back from dinners out. I would still recommend bringing a small flashlight. The ALux House location right off the ‘Sidewalk” was ideal. It is also very close the one main road so easy to get to the Tutti Frutti Gelato shop if we had a craving . There are many fun restaurants to try and 2 beach clubs open to,the public for use of larger swimming pools. We highly recommend ALux House for your stay in Placencia."

"AAA+++. The best! One bedroom condo has everything you need including washer and dryer, bikes, air conditioning,equipped kitchen. Easy walk to the Beach Club, Toucan Jacks and everything in between. Owners and staff are fantastic. I love riding my bike up and down the peninsula or spending the day at the Beach Club. Both are included with rental. I can’t say enough about how nice this place is and with four units you can’t go wrong no matter which one you choose."
