"The Portalegre Palace exceeded expectations. Spacious, well-appointed rooms, beautiful bathrooms, a pretty garden with a pool and jacuzzi. Plus a fantastic breakfast: eggs made to order, local cheeses, cold meats, fresh bread and juice served in a beautiful dining room by friendly staff. And a huge shoutout to Miguel at reception — friendly, helpful, and full of brilliant local restaurant tips. Plus parking is free. Highly recommended!"

"By phone I had chosen the inn d. Manuel (belonging to this one) for being 15 euros cheaper, but after seeing the conditions so humble and above all the lack of security. I asked us to change to the Liberdade Inn. Positive points were: the good location, the breakfast and the building itself; Negative points were the smell of tobacco in the rooms and the lack of friendliness of the inn owner who served us."

"We enjoyed our one night stay at Convento da Provenca after visiting nearby Marvão during the day. Arriving around 3pm, the approach is along a 500m dirt track (steep and bumpy at the very start but our SUV had no problem). Check in was quick and friendly and the owner was very helpful. Our room was fine - a little basic and the bed was not super comfortable - but it had all we needed. Convento da Provenca Is located in the countryside and is very quiet and rural. The area around the hotel is very rustic. Finding somewhere to eat nearby was a little difficult, particularly on a Monday when many places are closed, but we found a lovely taverna 10 minutes drive away. Breakfast was reasonable."

"Being a work trip, I couldn't get an invoice to be given to me (unlike what has happened in other hotels in the city, where they always gave me an invoice). In the room we forgot to clean the piassava (which I only discovered the next morning!) The breakfast has a variety, especially local sweets, but in the basket where the bread is removed I found a silver moth (or paper moth) in motion. which is not acceptable. Impossible to park on the hotel street! Not to be all negative, the room has a pleasant decoration, it was clean (except for the issue already mentioned). The reception employee is friendly, but she did not resolve the invoice issue."
