"Since I saw the show of chef Bertus I wanted to visit. A 300km detour and we did it. Hotel is lovely and neat. Very friendly staff. Enjoyable gin bar. Lunch & Breakfast in coffee shop was excellent. Flavourful and vibrant colours. I cannot believe that the same kitchen cooked the dinner. Was very dissapointed with dinner. I am an very good cook and do catering as well. A plate of food must be put together with colour and taste in mind. My sirloin was not medium and was brown and the cauliflower was grey and broccoli not green and pumpkin fritter brown. Lack flavour and seasoning. Hubby's lamshank was bland and that pea mash is not good. Rather serve with normal mash or samp. Tip good stock, onions, cellery and garlic and carrots and few cloves and rosmary and seasoning adds flavour to lamb shank. Tip...spash of lemon or milk keeps cauliflower white and pinch of baking soda keep broccoli nice bright green colour. Further during dinner they had to change our table lamp twice since it ran out of power because it was not charged. Certainly they can charge the lamps daily."

The location is perfect, in the main street, making it easy to explore this charming spot. The hospitality was top-notch, we felt like royalty. The hosts were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, De Kleine Prince is the place to be. 5 stars from us, can't wait to go back."

"The 8 sleeper at the Karoo cottages is outstanding. With the main house having lots of space, a well equipped kitchen, pool, green garden and air con in every room you cannot help but be comfortable. The house is serviced every day by a cleaner and the hosts were very responsive and the communication was excellent. Be aware that the house sleeps 6 and there is a separate cottage that sleeps two with its own bathroom."

"An exceptional guesthouse - Tracey and staff are amazing and every detail is seen to. The site and rooms are tasteful; the breakfast was a delight (Tracey bakes freshly every day); and service is thoughtful and always more than expected. It is peaceful and tranquil on site, while still perfectly situated close to other places of interest. Walking is easy. The rooms have everything you need, and an excellent menu and bar provides all the sustenance you'll need. We loved it and will go out of our way to visit again."
