"Novotel Hotel in Kuta Lombok is honestly an amazing place to stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, peaceful, and perfect if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to unwind. What really stood out for me was the staff — incredibly warm, helpful, and genuinely friendly. They make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. That said, the location is quite remote. It’s not within walking distance of Kuta centre, so you’ll need to arrange a car. The hotel can organise transport for about 50,000 rupiah one way (roughly a five-minute drive). There’s no Grab or regular taxi service around because the local community supports their own drivers, which is actually a positive thing and understandable. If your plan is to relax, enjoy the hotel, and take things slow, it’s a fantastic choice. But if you like exploring, dining out frequently, or moving around a lot, keep in mind that you’ll need transport everywhere — and depending on where you want to go in Lombok, some trips can easily take a few hours."

They helped me a lot when I was having trouble riding my motorbike. They gave me a message to be careful and it was obvious that they were worried, like they were their own children 😭. Hopefully, it will continue to run smoothly and become more popular. When we were walking here, the road was good and there were lots of cows."

"Friends, if you're planning to stay at this hotel, it's best to rent a car. The hotel is located in a local village, and the last kilometer of the road is unpaved and very bumpy. The location is genuinely inconvenient; you can't get a Grab here. We had to ask the hotel to arrange a car to the airport, which cost 300K for a one-way trip – almost double the price of a Grab. The hotel is near Kuta, but Kuta itself isn't very exciting unless you're going surfing. Grab always showed that it wasn't operating in the area. We later found out that taxis seem to have a monopoly here, making transportation very inconvenient. There's a beach about a 10-minute walk away, but it's a harbor beach with a lot of seaweed, not suitable for diving or collecting shells. It's fine for lying down and sunbathing, though. The hotel breakfast is very simple and seems perfect for vegetarians. We also had some lunch – vegetable soup and spring rolls – which is great for those on a diet but not really suited for the 'Chinese palate,' and quite expensive too. Despite these points, the hotel environment is very nice and looks just like the pictures, surrounded by greenery and very quiet. The bedding is also very comfortable."

I’d recommend one of the rooms by the pool and the new building. There are 3 pools and the pool by the rooms in the new building feels resortsy. The breakfast that was included wasn’t just a basic breakfast. It was order off the menu and so much delicious food. I’d highly recommend El Tropico!"

The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily and were always tidy and hygienic. The only minor drawback was that we didn't have hot water. When we reported it, the staff responded immediately and did their utmost to fix it. They even offered us the use of another empty room so we could have a warm shower. We found that very thoughtful and it shows how much effort they put into resolving the issue for us. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay. Thanks to the great service, clean rooms, and excellent location, we would definitely recommend this hotel."
