"We appreciated the one-mattress queen-size bed, something we found to be a rarity in our Iceland trip (the norm seemed to be two twin-beds slammed together, which just isn't the same thing. The staff was helpful and the facilities clean and well-maintained. The only negative was the fact that the hotel charged a separate fee to use the hot tub."

"We stayed at OOD Hekla Horizon’s Mirror Houses for one night in their Lava House in September. Let me tell you, one night is definitely not enough! The Vibe: Remote. Peaceful. Inspiring. Luxurious. We opted for the accommodation that had a private sauna and hot tub (one of the extended houses) and it was well worth it. It was intimate, we could use them whenever we wanted and they were just outside the door. The Property: The grounds and views were absolutely stunning. We could see lava fields, the Hekla volcano, moss covered terrain and mountains all from the giant windows in your room, on your deck, from the hot tub or from the mirrored sauna. There are less than 10 mirrored homes so it never felt crowded and they were positioned for privacy. Each house comes with a parking spot that is only a few metres away and it was easy to get our luggage to and from our car. Our Room: Gorgeous neutral/modern decor. I would consider this a tiny home but we never felt like we needed more space. The floor to ceiling windows made all the difference. Our house came with lots of amenities like bathrobes, towels for sauna/hot tub, portable speaker, games, air conditioning (not something often found in Iceland), kitchenette, dining table and chairs, outdoor table and chairs and wifi. There is a large bathroom and shower but with a very small sink for some reason!! Everything was spotless, well maintained and so much attention to detail. Things to note: The closest restaurant or town is over 30 minutes away. We bought some stuff at the local grocery store and had a charcuterie board for dinner and had oatmeal, fruit and pastries for breakfast before heading out. Definitely get up for the sunrises. They are incredible! There is a hidden waterfall just minutes away from the property. Ask the staff for directions. If you haven’t seen those famous Icelandic horses yet, you just might, on your way here. On the road in, just before you get to Hekla Horizons is a farm on your left. We pulled off the road (no traffic on this road) and went to the fence line and they came right to us! So cool!! Thanks to the team for making our stay so very memorable! Definitely a place we would return to in a heartbeat!❤️"

"The room is spacious and comfortable, with a simple yet warm design. Opening the window, I was greeted by the magnificent Icelandic mountain scenery. The morning mist and sunlight intertwined, creating a scene from a painting. At night, the silence was complete, with the sound of the wind and the whisper of a distant waterfall. Every moment was a perfect opportunity to completely relax, immerse in the purest tranquility and beauty of nature, and truly escape from the hustle and bustle of life."
