"How did this hotel even get a 5-star rating?! Did Ctrip even check it? The rating is only 4.8, is it fake? Aside from the restaurant service being relatively friendly (of course, I paid for the meal), everything else is at best a poor 3-star hotel. I initially thought it was just a bit out of the way, and everything else would be fine! Now it seems that apart from the restaurant service, it's completely useless! First of all, the facilities are extremely basic. The bed is just a broken wooden bed, and many pieces of furniture have peeling paint! The wardrobe is unusable; it's filled with random scraps of wood and has obvious water stains. There's a pungent smell as soon as you open the door. The bedding is very rough; I thought there weren't any sheets. The TV is smaller than my computer monitor, and the hot water comes from an old electric water heater; the water gets cold after only 5 minutes of showering! The location is remote; it's impossible to get a taxi to the station. The door handles are rusty, and you need a key to lock the door, which is extremely difficult to open. The door jams quite low, and it takes a lot of effort to open each time. I stayed for two days, and the room wasn't cleaned at all; it was exactly as it was when I left. They didn't clean the bed or replenish amenities. Furthermore, when I booked a travel service at the front desk, they told me to wait while they sent someone to help me. I waited in the restaurant, even tearfully saying I'd wait there, and they still said okay! I waited for over an hour and when I asked how long it would take, they told me it would be three hours later. I was speechless. It's terrible! Absolutely terrible! I always trusted Ctrip's five-star rating system! I thought a 5-star rating plus a 4.8 rating meant everything was fine! This time I've been completely ripped off! It's practically a scam!"

"We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Royal Tulip Chitwan. The rooms very very spacious and the food was excellent. As well as the very attentive and very friendly staff at the hotel. Thank you so much for three wonderful nights!"

"Clean, good food, excellent wifi, perfect coordination and timings, and unbelievably attentive staff. I have difficult dietary needs (serious allergies) and i have NEVER found anywhere so helpful to ensure all was ok for me. The waiting staff were made aware in advance and we were immediately spoken to on arrival in the restaurant where something was then seperately prepared to avoid having to use the buffet, where there may have been some risk of cross contamination from one dish to another by other guests. Regardless of dietary needs, this demonstrates the level of friendliness, care and service from their amazing staff, including reception, catering, drivers, guides, and security."

"We did their 3D/2N package that included meals and activities in the Chitwan National Park; and were very happy with room, the organisation of the activities, the guides provided, and the meals. Right from check-in onwards, where they explained the activities for the next few days, to the excellent guides that were provided, to check-out. The room was spacious, with a balcony, comfortable beds and sitting areas. The buffet meals had enough variety for most palletes The only negative might be the location, which is about 1 to 2 km from other shops, etc.. so if you want to do anything other than the activities planned, you might need to walk or have your own transport. All in all, an excellent stay, service and hotel! Definitely recommended"

"The location is excellent for nature lovers. The photographs are very accurate for both the interior and exterior areas. The resort is only a short walk into town or a slightly longer walk to the elephant breeding centre. We even enjoyed sitting on our bed photographing birds outside our room (208). Every morning about 30-40 hornbills would fly into the tree outside reception. Quite a spectacle. Reading previous reviews we almost cancelled our booking but are very glad we did not. The "rules" are very sensible. No non presctibed ***** on the premises, you MUST wearing a bathing costume in the pool (reception can provide one if necessary) etc. The owner was on site every day and very chatty. Oh and the food. Fabulous food with very generous portions. Thank you to Safal Giri who looked after us so well keeping us fed and watered all day. 🥰."

"We visited Sapana Village Lodge as a group of two couples and couldn’t fault our stay. Naran the hotel manager greeted us with a smile and helped us plan each day with ease and made everything simple. All of the staff were lovely and friendly and always happy to help. Dinesh Giri was our safari guide and he had such a wealth of knowledge, as well as being safe and respectful to the animals. Under his guidance we were able to see a tiger, a wild elephant and lots of rhinos, crocodiles, birds etc. We had the best stay thank you."

"We spent two nights at the Chitwan Paradise, and were quite pleased with our stay. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We had the most amazing set lunches and dinners. (So much food! The soups were absolutely amazing and different each meal!) Our room was quite spacious, with very comfortable beds. We did not manage to find time to swim in the pool, but it looked quite refreshing. The street was calm and quiet, and it was a very peaceful atmosphere on the hotel property."

"The most special part of my visit to Nepal was visiting Chitwan. An excellent place to observe animals and fauna of all kinds. The lodge was excellent. If you're very lucky you will see a tiger. And if your guide is SUMAN-- you are very lucky indeed! A most excellent guide and enthusiast about all he sees. Knows so much too!"
