However, considering the island's special conditions, the price was barely acceptable after deducting the round-trip ferry tickets to Wakkanai. A particularly unique experience was getting up early to climb the huge rock observation deck next to the hotel for a stunning sunrise. The only downside was that the bicycles available for rent were very old, and many were not electric; cycling around the island was incredibly exhausting."

"The hotel is about ten kilometers from the airport, but only a 2-minute walk from the pier, making it very convenient. I was very satisfied with the hotel service. Japanese people are very clean, so the hotel was very clean. Make sure to request daily room cleaning upon check-in, otherwise, unlike hotels in China, they won't clean the room. I booked a twin room. When booking a hotel in Japan, be careful not to book a room with a double bed, and also pay attention to the width of the bed. Some rooms are labeled as having a double bed, but the bed is only 1.2 meters wide—how can two people sleep in that? The room I booked could have an extra bed; part of the room was tatami mats that could sleep multiple people. Because it was the off-season, the hotel wasn't crowded, so the onsen (hot spring) was less crowded, allowing me to enjoy it to my heart's content. Dinner was plentiful, with different dishes every day, while breakfast was average."
