"We enjoyed our stay here despite travel time to the hotel being much longer than given on AA Route Finder France. We arrived hot and tired. Road access was barred from the postcode given by Brittany Ferries, so we had to first find the hotel on foot in order to get directions to the free car park. We were fortunate enough to get the last spot. Despite this rocky start we felt very well looked after. The weather was in our favour and we spent some time sunbathing poolside, we walked into town and beside the estuary, (perhaps not the prettiest of views) but the Corderoi Royale was most impressive. We loved the Nuxe honey shower gel provided in the shower, a real highlight. We had two comfortable, quiet nights here. We visited on a weekend and the hotel was extremely busy so our future trips to France and Spain will be aimed at midweek breaks"

"We've stayed in IBIS hotels many times, and have usually been impressed by their high standards. Unfortunately this one fell far short. The hotel itself is difficult to find, due to lack of signage on the nearby roads. When we first arrived at the hotel, the receptionist could not find our booking. Whilst she was searching for it, another guest pushed past us to the desk and asked her a question. She then ignored us whilst she answered it, and did not apologise to us for the interruption. This behaviour is totally unacceptable, and is definitely not the way to treat your customers. During the whole of our stay we could not use the hotel WiFi on any of our devices. On two separate occasions we asked the staff at Reception for help, but they were unable to solve the problem and even implied that it was our own fault! One of them even asked "Why do you not just use your 4G signal?" We eventually realised that the the problem was caused by the network not directing us to a Login Page after we first connected. These incidents fall far short of the high standard we have come to expect from Ibis Hotels, and we do not feel that we received good value for money on this occasion. "

"Not much of an experience as being quicked out before check in by a very unpleasant owner as I was indicating that I may shorten a bit my stay, booked one hour before. Picking up calls in the meanwhile, rude and unhelpful. May I suggest you avoid this hotel?"

"The hotel is very comfortable and the rooms are small and we are used to get down to Ibis hotels but the rooms are not even at the Ibis budget level . When you enter the room with our baggage, you can't open the door in the large because it touches the bed."

"Located a 15-minute walk from the train station, on a quiet street. Friendly welcome. Quiet room overlooking a garden. A fan, desk, chair, and pouf are provided. Separate toilet. Kettle with one tea bag, one verbena bag, and one sachet of instant coffee. Functional Wi-Fi. Good soundproofing. Breakfast (buffet): teas, coffees, dried and seasonal fruits, breads, jams, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, Charentais cake, yogurts, and fruit juices."

"Great quiet location in historic district near Corderie Royale. Welcoming hosts who couldn’t seem to do enough for us. Street parking due to larger rental car just outside front door was fine. Large room - perhaps the biggest on our trip - with great bathroom. Delicious and varied breakfast including freshly cooked eggs. Good recommendations for dinner and sandwiches as well as where to go for gas. We enjoyed walking around this historic city."
