"This is a nice new hotel, but they really PISSED ME OFF at checkin. So they only get 1 star for the way they handled my arrival. My reservation clearly says that checkin is at 3:00 PM. But when I arrived at 3:05 PM, I was told they could not check me in until 4:00 PM. So the parking lot was empty and they had plenty of rooms. When we questioned the Front Desk Clerk, they said it was the General Managers policy that checkin was at 4:00 but they could check us in early for an extra 10% Fee. Again, the reservation clearly states checkin is at 3:00 PM. So we had to sit in the lobby for 55 minutes to wait until 4:00. I have been a loyal Marriott member for many years as a business traveler. But this is the first time I was treated this way at any Marriott property. This is abominable! Marriott needs to fix their General Manager or fix their website."

"We didn’t know much about the property and I believe some of the reviews on trip advisor must be old and possibly from a previous owner. Linda and her son run the property now and they were absolutely amazing. Her communication and welcomed heart was just adorable. We were in town for family weekend at W&L but every time we returned to the Mill there were cute snacks out and available. Linda and her son are constantly working to make the property even better and we can’t wait to return in the future. Don’t give your money to a corporate hotel chain and get a boring room when you can support local and get a memorable experience!"

"Great place and the best people that you may ever meet. Welcomed in just like family and very relaxing. They made our wedding the most pleasant experience and the local gals that did my brides hair, makeup and photos knocked it out the park. Breakfast with the other guest made for some good conversations with a fine filling meal."
