"The hotel is located in the valley, the exterior is beautiful, especially the blue sky and white clouds under the large purple myrtle bloom. Good service. The hotel's facilities are old, there is no table in the room, I can find a table outside the restaurant and write daily homework. The curtains are not sealed, and the light transmission is a bit affecting sleep."

"I cannot express how impressed and pleased we were with our experience at Osceola Mill. My son was getting married, and the date was coming up… fast! To add to the situation, most of our guests were from out of town. Linda was not only able to provide the sleeping accommodations for 10 of our guests, but she also made the Mill a venue for our rehearsal dinner and after-reception dinner. With it’s wonderful front porch, garden area, and the dining and sitting rooms, The Mill was able to comfortably host 40, or so, people well into the evening. The entire Schatz family, with their constant and immediate attentiveness, allowed an opportunity for both families to really get to know each other with wonderful stories, laughter, and fellowship. Prior to the event, Linda was very much keyed in to creating a service package that met every one of our needs. We had explained that the theme of the weekend was to be “country casual”; she met that with a simple elegance that truly embodied the tradition of Southern Hospitality. My siblings are already talking about a “one year anniversary” party at Osceola Mill!"

"The room is clean and sanitary. There are restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations and other supporting facilities around the hotel. It is only a few minutes' drive from Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University. It is a bit regrettable that the breakfast is too simple and the air conditioner in the room is a bit loud, but almost all hotels in the United States have this problem. Overall, it is good. '"

"Justin's place is classic cabins meets comfort. Food was 5 stars. You have to try the strawberry short cake. We brought the whole crew & had enough space to socialize w/o feeling cramped. Justin had great local recommendations and the cabin has a gorgeous Scenic view not too off the beaten path. We will definitely come again."

Steeles Tavern Manor

"A wonderful get away with the hubby! This is our third visit to STM and our first stay in one of their cabins. They give the same attention to detail for the cabin as they do the Manor House. The view is calm, the hot tub is relaxing, and the stone fireplace is cozy. The bed is super comfortable. Everything is super clean. The kitchen is well stocked. I highly recommend STM. You will not be disappointed."

Autumn Ridge Cottages

"We enjoyed our two night stay in the barn. It was very clean and well maintained. We liked the privacy however, be advised that it is very remote and down a narrow road. As another reviewer wrote, we did see a few stink bugs but no where near an infestation as they indicated. You cannot get rid of stink bugs. We have experience with them and do not blame the owner for the 3 that we saw. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the shower is very small. I think in a place as nice as this cottage they would have put in a bigger shower. With that said we do recommend the cottage."
