"Hotel Rompin Beach Resort is an old hotel, but the rooms have been renovated and look more comfortable. However, the cleanliness of the toilet is still not satisfactory. The room doors also still use old locks. In addition, the area around the swimming pool is not very clean and the path and area leading to the beach look unkempt. The beach is not maintained. Left unmanaged. In terms of breakfast, there is no buffet provided. It is hoped that the hotel can improve the cleanliness and maintenance aspects for the comfort of visitors in the future."

Staying here is a perfect fit if you like wild snorkeling, walking (trekking, hiking, waterfalls swim), and want to stay away from crazy civilization for a while (no tv in rooms and limited wifi becomes an advantage!). Don’t expect usual ‘sticky’ service like in Bali - it’s just as good as needed. If you need something just ask and you would get help. Dinner and Breakfast might be better, since lunch is cooked very nice ) Oh yes, if you need some adrenaline to shake you up - go jump from the jetty, really nice exercise (unless you are super cray - then just go climb Dragon Horns)."

"The hotel felt like a quiet, secluded haven. We booked a beach villa, and they even accommodated our request for a room with a great view. There were many sharks by the jetty, and we could snorkel right outside our room to see plenty of fish and small sharks. The hotel food was good, though a bit pricey. The room design was truly impressive, with front and back doors offering different views, and we even saw many playful monkeys. The cleanliness was absolutely spotless! It also came with a separate vanity table, which turned out to be perfect for our child's homework. The only letdown was the spa. For a hotel that markets itself as a spa destination, the spa rooms were chilly and damp. The therapist was simply awful; she even stopped massaging me when I fell asleep??? I definitely do not recommend getting a spa treatment at this hotel."

"We had a wonderful time Al Melina Beach Resort. Nice beach directly in front of the terrace. At high tide you almost feel like you are on a boat. The super friendly hosts made our stay relaxed and we were really sorry when we had to leave. Freshly cooked food ist served and the breakfast was a nice mixture between international (eggs/toast/marmalade/fruits) and lokal specialties. The whole day you could get free water, tee and coffee. So you could even stay there an don’t move. Snorkeling trip with their own boat was offered as an extra, equipment to rent. We slept in a cabin directly at the waterfront with our own bathroom and comfortable beds. We recommend this paradise!"

"When choosing a hotel, preference was given to the order. It is located 10 meters from the shore, where you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the surf! The hostess Aziza is very friendly, she helped buy tickets for the ferry to the island and back, which I could not do myself. Breakfasts are modest, but quite filling. You can also have lunch and dinner at the hotel. We always took seafood. They cook very tasty! Right in front of the hotel there is a coral reef, where you can see a lot of fish with a mask and snorkel. On the right and left there are diving clubs, where you can learn and dive into the underwater world the next day, if the training goes well. I went to the right, if you look from the sea, everything is organized there by an interesting Japanese family. I recommend the hotel, but not for possessive tourists for whom comfort is in the first place!"

"Room is nice & overlooked the river. Lots of overlooking from rooms next door though. Room has A/C & ceiling fan. No fridge, no hairdryer & Wi-Fi is only available at the amenities area where you eat. Bed is comfy but pillows were HUGE! Thankfully we had our own or we would have suffered. Lots of construction happening right outside the villas which is very noisy during the day. Considering there isn't a great heap to do here, you will spend time in your villa trying to relax. Would have been even worse for the rear facing villas who would have been looking right into a construction site. We had a thin layer of dust on the floor of our villa, so when you come out of the shower with wet feet, dirty footprints are everywhere. The towels also smelt kind of gross. The staff are so friendly & accommodating! They were the highlight. Meals are all buffet style but the food is pretty good. There will usually be something you like amongst the options if you aren't super fussy. Wildlife viewing isn't unbelievable. Rainforests are always tough as vegetation is so thick, but don't expect to always see heaps of stuff. You might get lucky though. The night tours are a bit hit & miss. A lot depends on your guide. We saw a number of things the first night & practically nothing the second night. Had an overall enjoyable stay, but wouldn't rush back"

"Absolutely did not enjoy my stay here. Starting from the receptionist who wasn’t very friendly and like to blame others for any fault, the room in general was not well kept and dirty. But let’s talk about the pros first: - Beds and pillows were comfy. Cons: 1) what you see in the pictures online are completely different from what they provide. Basically the amenities shown in the picture are not provided at all. There was no telephone in the room, if I wanted to speak to the receptionist, I had to go down myself to talk to them. Bathroom only provided shampoo and bath wash, that’s all. No bar soap, no toilet mat, no hair dryer. Mind you all these things were mentioned as provided in the website. I had to go down to the receptionist to get a hair dryer. 2) The light switch wasn’t working, I couldn’t off the lights at night and had to sleep with the light on. 3) Cleanliness in general was bad, there was an insect wing and hair in my bed when I arrived. Toilet was not very clean with water stains and dirt everywhere. 4) Coffee and creamer were provided, but the creamer was hardened?! I really question the edibility of the food provided. Also, the kettle was so dirty with stains I didn’t even dare use it. All in all, if the room was cheaper, I wouldn’t have so many complaints. But if they’re charging me rm 255.5/ night, no breakfast included, I would expect more from them. So yeah, absolutely would not come back here again."

"Excellent location where hotel provide buggy services from room to any location inside the resort. Staff were all friendly and helpful with our needs. Delivering of items when we requesting also very timely. Reception counter also provide snorkelling, diving, and other water sports booking with reasonable charges. Renting of equipment also available if needed. However, the sofa appeared to be a bit dusty below the cushion. Ants were seen inside the toilet sink. Otherwise the experience will be even more better."
