"Great resort! We had 2 rooms next to each other. One for my wife and I and another for my 3 teen/adult kids. I have arthritis and the beds were comfortable for me. I am an American and run hot and the AC was good at keeping me cool. The rooms were very clean. The outside had a beautiful ambience. The inside of the rooms were on the darker side but spacious. The outside looked better than the inside, but the inside was adequate. We had a nice patio. One of my kids did get bit by mosquitoes while walking around the property in the evening. I would recommend mosquito repellent if walking around much at night or early morning. I personally did not get bit though. The staff at the hotel were fantastic. We had great service again and again. We walked in on the cleaning staff one time, and they were literally scrubbing the bathroom clean as we walked in. The staff at the front desk and at the restaurant had great service, were very professional, and spoke pretty good English. Also, they contract with a massage place. I received much better massages there then I have in America. The massage therapists seemed better trained. I see a chiropractor every week and the massage therapists helped me with my pain in my back as an alternative for our timr in the Philippines. The pool was big and my kids liked the 2 water slides. Great experience, will plan to stay here again if we go back to Roxas City."

"Place is very run down. ! Booked a deluxe room and everything doesn't work. ! Room telephone doesn't work. Heater for shower doesn't work. The TV doesn't work. ! There's only 3 outlet in the room. One near sink. One close to the TV. One next to bed. We had to borrow extension so we can charge our phones as the outlet is bit far from the bed. Some parts of the wall especially in the bathroom are moldy!! Sliding door for the shower nearly came off when I opened it! Front desk are somehow dismissive regarding our concerns. The only thing that made me feel better is the on duty security guard who helped and assisted me with my concerns during my stay. Overall, if you want convenience and to relax. Better look somewhere else. Also, the place is under renovation as well. Note that if you booked your stay for the pool. Better make sure to ask ahead if they rented the area as if there's a party. Guests can't access the pool area."

"Finding a hostel of Olive Hostel's quality in Roxas City was a pleasant surprise. I booked it because I needed to catch an early morning flight the next day, and it was only a 10-minute walk from the airport. However, after staying there, I found the warmth and friendliness even more appealing than the convenient location. The receptionist was incredibly welcoming from the moment I entered. His smile wasn't a professional fake smile; it genuinely treated me like a friend from afar. The room, while not large, was extremely clean, even the sheets had a faint scent of sunshine – a huge plus for a solo traveler with allergies. The best part was their free breakfast: freshly baked Pan de Sal bread with hot coffee. Enjoying it slowly in the sunny courtyard instantly created a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere. The common areas were well-designed. In the evenings, you could enjoy the breeze on the terrace and occasionally chat with other backpackers – the social distancing was just right. Despite being in the city center, it was surprisingly quiet at night. If you're like me, traveling alone and don't want to stay in a cold, impersonal hotel, but also don't want a dirty, cheap hostel, this is definitely the place to go. By the way, his family actually has a backup generator, which is a lifesaver in the Philippines where power outages are so frequent."
