"Room was nice at first, light bulb was not working in the toilet. I did not bother to report it as I was too exhausted and my things are all over the place. After a few hours, the toilet becomes smelly. I had to close the door so the room wont smell like it. Also, the rooms are located at the third floor and they have no elevator. This is nice for a weekend stay. Great location as well. They also have free drinking water to refill your tumblers and have coffee. AC is working fine and the TV has many channels (local and intl). They only have one socket which is intended for the tv and cable. Good thing I brought an extension wire."

"Finding a hostel of Olive Hostel's quality in Roxas City was a pleasant surprise. I booked it because I needed to catch an early morning flight the next day, and it was only a 10-minute walk from the airport. However, after staying there, I found the warmth and friendliness even more appealing than the convenient location. The receptionist was incredibly welcoming from the moment I entered. His smile wasn't a professional fake smile; it genuinely treated me like a friend from afar. The room, while not large, was extremely clean, even the sheets had a faint scent of sunshine – a huge plus for a solo traveler with allergies. The best part was their free breakfast: freshly baked Pan de Sal bread with hot coffee. Enjoying it slowly in the sunny courtyard instantly created a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere. The common areas were well-designed. In the evenings, you could enjoy the breeze on the terrace and occasionally chat with other backpackers – the social distancing was just right. Despite being in the city center, it was surprisingly quiet at night. If you're like me, traveling alone and don't want to stay in a cold, impersonal hotel, but also don't want a dirty, cheap hostel, this is definitely the place to go. By the way, his family actually has a backup generator, which is a lifesaver in the Philippines where power outages are so frequent."

"The service is just wonderful they do their best to make you happy. I asked upgrade and paid the difference. This is not a star standard hotel but okay anyhow for a pass overnight stay. The private beach doesn't look inviting if you consider the dirt and litters all around. All in all it's gonna be okay for those looking for low budget stay. I couldn't enjoy shower the next morning.I think there is water shortage and problem in this hotel. Breakfast was simple don't expect too.much, no buffet Here. Though clean and good staff. If i can't shower no second time."
