"An excellent facility run run by the local community. The owners are warm, present and doing a lot for and with the community. The place is quite surprising with spacious cottages with bathrooms that half open into the wild. the meals were great, with vegetables coming from their organic garden. amazing sunsets and evening fires accompanied by the sounds of traditional music played by the in house guide. the pool was still under construction so looking forward to when its done."

Luke as GM goes above and beyond to make sure your accomdations, dining, and overall experience is next level. Then you get to Safari, and it was life changing; the proximity of animals, seeing the big 5, and then the combination of the environment and topography make you realize that Loisaba is magical. "I stayed at Star Beds on 16 December 2025 with my 20 year old son. We had stayed at Loisaba tented camp for two nights prior to our stay at Star Beds. Both places are owned by the same team so we knew we would be in great hands. Star Beds is a small complex of four rooms set within the Loisaba conservancy. Loisaba is a private conservancy which has a wide variety of animals, we saw all of the “Big 5” during our stay. We spent one night at Star Beds as a treat ti end our stay at Loisaba and it did not disappoint. The team who run Star Beds are wonderful. We were met by Dora the manager, who was friendly and polite and explained how everything worked and what to expect. She was joined by John, who was also friendly and pleasant and had an extensive knowledge of animals. We were lucky enough to have the family room, which meant that we had a huge bed each on separate verandas. The accommodation is breathtaking. It is on stilts and has amazing views over the conservancy. The beds themselves are kept indoors during the day and wheeled onto the verandas by staff, in the evening. The food at the Star Beds is incredible and the portions are huge! Freshly prepared, delicious, healthy food that could be served in any top class restaurant. It was a huge treat. After our evening game drive, we sat outside and John served our food. We were delighted to be joined by two civet cats. We had never seen them before and John explained what they were and that they were harmless. John asked whether there were any animals we hadn’t seen and we said, that we had not seen any porcupines as they were nocturnal. A short time later, John returned to tell us there was a porcupine in the camp! We rushed with John and were lucky enough to see it behind one of the buildings in camp! Literally nothing was too much trouble for the team! The Star Beds experience itself was unforgettable. Sleeping under the stars with nature all around you is a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget. To wake when the sun starts to rise is almost spiritual in its beauty. I will never forget our visit to Star Beds and highly recommend to anyone travelling to Kenya."
