"A wonderful welcome and relaxation at the highest level of comfort and hospitality. After a long drive, we were waited for until 1am, after which we tasted cheeses and wine in the chic living room. The house is located in the heart of the vineyards, a stone's throw from the Cos d'Estournel. The interior is refined but discreet. You are welcomed as if in a welcoming home. Coming to Maison d'Estournel is to indulge in a holiday of "the good life", to relax in the living room-library with a glass of Cos d'Estournel, to discover the seasonal cuisine and to stroll leisurely along the endless roads along the vineyards. The house is located in the heart of the park, where you can admire the giant sequoia and centuries-old cedars. Most of the rooms offer a peaceful view of the park. Maison d'Estournel is a majestic home for a romantic and refined holiday in the vineyards."

A charming and elegant setting, perfectly renovated. A discreet, professional, and attentive team. Excellent restaurants nearby. All this that we were able to enjoy exclusively. "As I look back on our recently concluded 15-day trip to France, I realize that perhaps THE highlight was our stay at Chateau Papounan. It wasn’t the breakfasts, though they were terrific. Nor was it our room, which was more than adequate. It was our hosts, Sylvaine & Jacques Leisy. They were so welcoming, so helpful, and so generous (sharing a bottle of wine with them in their garden, with their two big dogs, will stay in my memory always). Had it been up to me, I’d have stayed longer to further engage with two folks I can only deem the ultimate hosts."
