Hôtel le Square

Hôtel le Square ★★★

📍 2 Pl. des Anciens Combattants, Saint-Pierre-d'Oleron

"Great location, lovely staff and a nice en-suite room overlooking the swimming pool. It’s very typically French and has that extra je ne sais quoi! It was within easy walking distance of the pedestrianised area in Saint Pierre with all its boutique shops, bars and restaurants. We’ll be returning !"

Odalys Terre Marine Residence

Odalys Terre Marine Residence ★★★

📍 6 Rue Normand d’Authon, Saint-Pierre-d'Oleron

"The residence is centrally located on the island, making it quite convenient for sightseeing, and about 1.7 km from the sea (La Cotinière harbor), easily walkable. We stayed for a week in a 6-person unit for the four of us, and it really wasn't big enough for more people. The accommodation is far too small, and the kitchenette is practically impractical. The residence should provide more luggage carts for transporting bags from the car to the residence. Only two are insufficient, and the airport trolleys are simply unusable; nothing stays on them, making them utterly impractical. The bedding is poor, and it would be much more hygienic to clean the mattress protectors, duvets, and sofa covers—they were dirty, stained, and smelled unpleasant. The website states that end-of-stay cleaning is included except for the kitchen area, but upon arrival, we were told to clean the accommodation upon departure... because they only handle disinfection. It's a joke... there was no disinfection whatsoever, judging by the state of the dirty dishes and the coffee maker still full of coffee... and the number of missing items... Of course, we could ask for them, but it's really too much to ask for things to be done properly and for everything to be perfect, or even close to it... And a small touch, like a kit with a sponge, a sample of dish soap and floor cleaner, a dishwasher tablet, and a roll of toilet paper upon arrival, would have been appreciated. Especially considering the prices. It should be noted that the staff are friendly and smiling, and that the residence is clean and well-maintained."

Hotel l'Oceane
8.9 (28 reviews)

Hotel l'Oceane ★★★

📍 47 Rte Touristique de Matha, Saint-Pierre-d'Oleron

"A charming 70-ish modernist designed hotel very close to the beach, good pool and good breakfast (no bar / restaurant). It’s super clean, we were very happy with our room, was large and in great condition. There are restaurants within 400m (ish) nearby, though we were slightly disappointed by the quality - same prices as Il de Re, but across two days of lunches / dinner, service and cooking was average. Summary was great hotel, great quality, better than the village."

Hôtel le Square ★★★
"1. Why put a 'do not disturb' hanger on the door and ignore it and enter the room, on more than one occasion? 2. Why, when it states that dogs are charged at €10 per night did you charge €10 per day? Totally unacceptable. 3. Paper thin walls, very noisy early morning. 4. No10 A tiny room. "

Hôtel Île de Lumière ★★★
"This is a hotel that definitely exceeds your expectations, provided you know how to appreciate the Atlantic Ocean! The hotel is right on the coast, and there is still a German defensive bunker from World War II in front of the door. I met an old European lady who was looking for treasure with a metal detector! The world of oysters and seafood, the first time I ate crab meat as a steamed bun, hehe 😁"

"This is a rental property with enclosed grounds. It's quiet and set back from a busy road. The sea, accessible by footpath, is nearby. The large living room is very pleasant, as is the terrace."
