"Impressive facility in the middle of the jungle. The premises are huge with lakes, a restaurant, a large common area, a large pool, different kinds of rooms. They offer night tours of the property and even during the day it's possible to see wild animals and birds. Good breakfast, clean room and very close to the Orangutan and Sunbear centres."

"We stayed in January 2026, three of us. We were greeted with a positive attitude by a cheerful guy at reception. We checked in quickly, received welcome drinks, and were assigned to a cottage in the park. It was a great room. We settled in and went to dinner. They cooked a delicious balaniru with mashed potatoes. Then we went for a swim in the pool. It's close to the bears and orangutans. We rented a car at Mandakan Airport, about 6,000 rubles a day, and drove to Simporn. Breakfast was included, and it was delicious. The grounds are beautifully lit, and the reception area is beautifully decorated."

Sepilok Forest Edge Resort
"The resort is located in a serene part of Sepilok, surrounded by lush jungle. The outdoor facilities including the pool and restaurant area are very nice. It’s about a 20 minute walk to both Orang-utan and sun bear sanctuaries. The staff was very helpful with arranging any other day trips or activities. We stayed in a dorm room. With only 4 beds and its own bathroom, it’s quite nice, but it definitely doesn’t get cleaned regularly. The sheets were fresh but that was about it. The common area bathrooms also weren’t the cleanest. The food was a bit disappointing. The menu reads quite exciting and delicious but then the actual food wasn’t all that. But it was convenient, since the resort is pretty remote."

"Tanini sepilok was a good value for money however, the area is a bit secluded from Sandakan and it’s hard to find grab or food around. The restaurant was limited in breakfast but we didn’t mind. The walk to Rainforest and Orang Utan sanctuary was close and quick."

"The price is typical for hostels, the room is dirty, there is gecko excrement on the sheets, no one cleans, dogs roam the area, they bark at night, but are not aggressive. There are only two sockets in the room for 10 people and they are inconveniently located. Breakfast is free, but poor, there is free water, the hostel is far from shops, there is a free transfer to the park and the zoo, after the rain there are puddles everywhere on the territory, and at the reception they require you to take off your shoes, I was here for 2 days, but I do not recommend longer. The view of the jungle is good, you can lie on a sun lounger."
