Arabella Alpenhotel am Spitzingsee, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

"We recently stayed at this Marriott property, part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection. This is beautiful property right on Lake Spitzingsee. The rooms are spacious and have an abundance of storage. The restaurant has a Bavarian Menu and we enjoyed the zweilbleroastbratan a few times for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were wonderful with suggestions for sightseeing and things to see in the local area. Overall a beautiful property that you need to experience if traveling in Bavaria. One word of caution, there is no air conditioning so July and August may be at your own risk!"

Hotel Gundl Alm

"We stayed for 5 nights in a rear facing room that overlooked a nice waterfall, we were staying on a family ski holiday. The room was a decent size and the windows and bathroom had been recently updated. The hotel may seem a little dated at first but it actually has a lot of charm as a classic Bavarian lodge type hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the girl on reception who spoke good English and made a lot of effort to find us things to do on a day when it rained and skiing looked like it wouldn't be possible. She also organised the sauna for us on 2 occasions which was good. Location is good, the ski slopes, ski schools and equipment hire that we used were about 20 mins walk away at the far side of the picturesque lake. There are a couple of good restaurants/bars in between. Breakfast in the morning was basic but sufficient, we got enough to do us for each day's skiing. Cereal, fruit, yogurts and some sausages/cured meat, pastries and tea/coffee We ate in the restaurant one night and it was good, unfortunately it was only open Friday and Saturday when we were there. On the Saturday night there was some sort of party in the area and we were woken at 3am by a lot of loud voices in the hall outside our room trying to get into their bedrooms, but this wasn't the hotel's fault. Overall, this is a perfectly good hotel in a good location, with good staff, good facilities and traditional charm, and everything you could need. Would recommend."

Karma Bavaria

"Karma Bavaria is wonderful! our stay was perfect! The rooms are beautiful and the beds are so very comfortable. The pool, the spa, the restaurant, the staff, the the town German town where it is located is so beautiful and the people are so very friendly. The nearby lake was just heaven to see, swim in and hike around. I can't wait to return!"
