"Elegant established hotel - 5min drive to seafront, no sea view from hotel. No air conditioning, carpets everywhere but at least good beds and very clean!!!! . Breakfast very good included prosecco and smoked salmon. Very polite and attentive restaurant personel and cleaning ladies. Very complicated to change something. I made the mistake of not asking beforehand about basics and reserving thru a booking company."

"The views from our beautifully furnished, spacious room were lovely, especially with fall foliage. At the owner's suggestion, we walked into town through the woods and back along the lake. We relaxed in the spotless spa facilities and ate delicious meals in the restaurant. (Another bonus of fall was venison season.) What a truly relaxing and memorable experience."

"The bedroom and living area are impeccably maintained, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about at breakfast; anything missing was immediately prepared or served at the buffet. The bread and the selection of rolls were excellent – ​​breakfast alone makes it worthwhile! In the evening, we went to the bar, which, although a bit dated, is still acceptable. However, the shower and toilet were a disaster! The toilet seat is very old with a brown rim, the toilet brush is filthy with old grime, and there's black mold on the vent. The fact that the toilet seat and brush are so dirty should be immediately obvious to anyone! Therefore, only three stars. Homepage Search Travel ⑦"

"“Vier Jahreszeiten”or four seasons - we visited this house in late February, which can be described as late winter. We don’t regret it. A quick summery to get started: - It’s a family hotel, there are kids everywhere and kids are rarely silent. You just have to consider that fact. - The hardware of house delivers what is promised. Swimming, wellness, beautiful views. - The stuff is very friendly and always present. - Breakfast and dinner is enjoyable. Now to some details: The house is huge and stretches itself on the hillside like a mace. The location is just breathtaking overlooking the beautiful black forest and “Schluchsee”. The whole ground with its many stairways and floors can be a little confusing, but you will find your destination eventually. In this huge area the house offers what one can expect from a four-star hotel. The facilities are good in general though a little worn. The age of the hotel can´t be hidden. But don´t get me wrong; everything is clean and well maintained. There is a lot of very friendly stuff always willing to guide you through the labyrinth 😉 or help you in any other way. The stuff is not always fluent in German, but English is fine. I value good service in general and I am totally satisfied with my experience in the four seasons. The kitchen is on the level that can be expected. Not overwhelming but definitely no real complains either. What you need to consider is the fact, that the four seasons is a family hotel. Consequently, there are kids scurrying around everywhere. If you are looking for a tranquil retreat, you might better look somewhere else. If you travel with your little ones, you hardly can do any better. So I have given the “Vier Jahreszeiten” a solid four out of five points. Thanks to the lovely stuff, we gladly will return in the future."

"We stayed in the hotel for two nights between Christmas and New Year and had a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is in a lovely scenic location and is right next to the train station. We were given a card which gives free rail travel in the Black Forest area. The staff couldn't have been more helpful- they were all friendly and have some good tips on things to see and do in the area. The room was amazing- we were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost with a jacuzzi bath and seperate lounge upstairs. The hosts also provided lots of little treats (wine, beer, juice, cakes) all free of charge in the room. Breakfast and dinner were lovely in a nice setting overlooking the lake. The hotel also has a nice spa area with a steam room and sauna which was a real treat after a walk in the snow. The hotel staff have been extra helpful after our stay and are sending my lost kindle all the way to the UK after I left it behind. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future."

"ROOM: Small, clean room - the curtains aren't blackout: at night you get the light from the streetlights in the square where other hotels, the parking lot, and restaurants are located. No air conditioning: with the windows open, the noise from the night owls is bothersome. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant - the sauna was out of order. The road on the lake side is very busy. DINING: Avoid it. The veal was half a centimeter thick and frozen, like shoe leather, served with frozen fries. It was very, very bad. The waiter who served us didn't like the French, but that might not be the general attitude, so we got an unpleasant experience on top of the frozen food for 55 euros. NEARBY: A very convenient small supermarket - restaurants for dinner - a parking lot - the lake within walking distance with its activities. THE BONUS: They offer a card with discounts (unfortunately, it didn't work with boat rentals (20 euros per hour))."
