"This hotel is situated in a beautiful coastal area with two other hotels close by. My room , on the 5th floor had superb views over the bay, There is no swimming pool at this hotel although there are places nearby where you can enter the sea, no sand , just pebbles. I was staying half board. The dining experience was deplorable. The room resembled a school canteen and the food was mediocre. Sitting outside in the courtyard was a slight improvement but there was no pleasure eating there. The staff did their best , but for a supposed 4 * hotel they need to completely upgrade the dining room."

"This hotel is just average! The hotel is 'Beige' no colour anywhere except around the pool area which is full of 'agapanthus,' other than that totally soulless. The staff all look miserable and barely make eye contact. They have a no towels on sunbeds policy which they don't enforce at all, Music is too loud on the speaker system around sunbeds, which is annoying especially when live music happening in the hotel beach bar close by. No TUI rep in the hotel or any contact. Transfer bus dropped at hotel entrance on arrival but when we left we had to lug our cases up a very steep incline to a waiting mini bus , hotel staff didn't even say goodbye or look up, when we left and we never complained once to them, so had no reason to be like this ! No entertainment in the hotel at all! Make sure you pay for Sea View room or you will look over a car park. Bring your own beach towel as the one they give you barely covers the bed! We had to ask every day for a week for English Breakfast Tea which is easily available in shops close by. It arrived the day we left! Good Points - Location is wonderful, set back from very overcrowded beach, lovely promenade to lots of bars, restaurants and shops . Croatia is beautiful and although we were let down by this hotel for reasons above , it was actually one of the better hotels in that area, hotel next door to us had 500 rooms and 100 sunbeds, all jammed next to each other, and the one the other side of us - had no pool at all so everyone hit the tiny beach. We did have a beautiful pool, marvellous views which we paid £400 extra for as we were there for 14 days and the hotel was clean and had a marvellous smell in public areas."

"Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting but sadly falls short of its 5 stars. The building itself is a beautiful restored 18th century palace with traditional white stone and lots of traditional features. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly reception who took details and showed us to our room. There was no welcoming touches such as a welcome drink etc which we have received in other 5 star hotels. The room was generous enough in size but fairly minimal and was let down by some cheap furniture which did not match the traditional look of the hotel. The bathroom was a huge let down. The shower was over bath which was small and the shower head did not even go high enough to go over my husbands head. The shower screen leaked and the floor got very wet. The bathroom was also cheapened with Ikea type cupboards. There were no suitable towel rails and therefore it was difficult to get towels dried and also nowhere to properly hang swimwear where it would dry sufficiently. Towels were changed only on request daily which needed to be done considering they never dried. There was also no turn down service in the evening which is something we have always received in other 5 star hotels. We were told that towels were available on request to visit the beach as they didn't want us hanging our own towels out of windows as it was a heritage hotel. When we planned a full day away at the beach we requested 4 towels from reception staff so that we could have clean towels after sunbathing to shower with before going for a meal. This was met with a tutt and and a raise of eyebrows and we had to settle for 3 towels instead. Another day a different member of staff offered us 4. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and the evening meals which we had twice were both very good. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful with recommendations. At times i felt the restaurant was a bit understaffed, particularly at breakfast where new guests were standing about not quite sure where to go. All in all we had a good holiday and Pucisca is definitely worth a visit, particularly if you like a quiet place. Its just unfortunate that this hotel lacks the extra luxury touches that other 5 star hotels offer."

"Fabulous hotel in the very pretty Baska Voda. Hotel is right on the front with views of the harbour and sea. Such an excellent location, can walk left out of the hotel to Makarska, such a beautiful walk along the pathways on the seafront and to Brela and beyond on the right. Perfect location! We had a standard room ( only rooms left) but our room like the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean, of a really good size, great shower ( always very hot water) and plenty of storage. The room had a fridge, hairdryer, kettle for coffee/tea ( replenished daily) along with a coffee pod machine providing 2 pods thereafter I think you had to purchase them. Not a problem for us as I always take my own tea and coffee. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. The bed and pillows were the most comfiest we have had anywhere we have travelled, just divine! Breakfast provided an excellent selection of hot/cold foods, everything you could wish for with some lovely breads. We booked half board, the choices and cooking were better some nights than others but we always found something to eat. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep to choose from if you wish to eat out. A bottle of wine, cocktails and all drinks were very reasonably priced in fact we didn’t drink anywhere else every evening. Big shout out to all the fabulous staff who served us at breakfast and dinner especially Kristina in the restaurant and Ivan who made the most excellent cocktails! All staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming, very friendly and we couldn’t have received better service. This was our very first visit to Croatia and I was rather anxious about my choice as friends were travelling with us. Absolutely no need, we loved this hotel, loved Baska Voda and we will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel. Thank You all at Grand Hotel Slavia, for a fabulous stay!"
