"This is the hotel I stayed at when I visited Nakamura, Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture. It's about a 20-minute walk from Nakamura Station, but it's in the center of Shimanto City, and there are many restaurants nearby, so I had no trouble finding something to eat or do sightseeing. Breakfast was a buffet at the restaurant on the first floor, but it was relatively delicious. There was a large hot spring bath on the fourth floor, and when I soaked in the hot water, it was slippery, like an eel in the Shimanto River. Since there was only one bath, men and women were required to take turns using different times, which was a bit inconvenient."

"Grandma Ling is a very nice person. She rents bicycles for free, even though they are a little old. This saves me thousands of dollars. You can rent them at the station. In addition, although the place is relatively old, it is clean and spacious. Grandma Ling is very considerate and turned on the air conditioner for me to come back. There are many restaurants and bars along this street for 5 minutes, which is quite convenient, but they close too late, around 8 o'clock."

"I had high expectations because the hotel was located on a hill and could see the Shimanto River, but the room was on the second floor, facing the mountain, and I could only see the unmaintained backyard, let alone the Shimanto River.I asked to change the room, but they said it was fully booked. It was not possible due to this. The meal was served in a dish bowl, with various side dishes served in small portions on a large plate, but none of them were exquisite, and they were all mediocre and completely disappointing. It felt like a 3000 yen dish served in the city. The hot spring was small and clean, but the sound of the water was so warm that no matter how much I used it, I felt uncomfortable. I think 23,000 yen per person per night is too expensive. It's a no-brainer and I'll probably never visit again."

"The hotel is located on a mountain, with great view of river and valley. The hotel have both Japanese and Western style room, with a safe. Parking is free. As the hotel is on a mountain, there’s little light pollution and a great place to watch stars, when the sky is clear. There’s an Observatory nearby, but we missed it as it closes every Tuesday and that’s the only day we had with a clear sky. The onsen is small but authentic. Our package included two Japanese meals, which was of good quality and different on each day. For an onsen hotel, it’s really great value for money."

"A long-established hotel in Shimanto, there is a large supermarket nearby, a 2-minute walk away, and across a bridge. There is a traditional canteen in the fruit market, where many drivers go to eat, and people who are not from the market can also go in. w is delicious, open in the morning until 1:00 noon. Shimanto is very comfortable and relaxing. Get off at JR Nakamura Station, then rent a bicycle at the tourist complex on the left side of the station and ride around Shimanto's small markets and clear streams."
