"The rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy, with balconies offering stunning sea views of the black ships. Transportation was convenient, very close to Shimoda Station, less than a ten-minute walk. There was free parking at the pier across the street. The Japanese-style breakfast and dinner were excellent. The onsen (hot spring bath) was wonderful. However, being so close to nature, a huge centipede was found in the room. We informed the front desk, and someone immediately came and skillfully eliminated it with spray—it seemed to be a common occurrence. There were spiders on the restaurant walls that the staff and guests ignored, and small insects frequently floated on the surface of the open-air hot spring. In short, the accommodation and food were excellent, but some foreigners, unfamiliar with such things, were not used to the various insects 🐛"

"The staffs are really friendly and superb, the atmosphere is very good with the aroma scents and the room is spacious and clean! The shared bathroom turns out to be a private onsen which you can use for 30 mins/section , and if you booked a ryokan type, there’s a in-room toilet. I would recommend for everyone who visit around izu area to stay here The only weakness of this place is a little far from the station , but it’s really worth for the price ;-)"

"I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the overall experience was smooth and pleasant. I especially appreciate the team’s kindness and efficiency in helping to arrange the return of my coat, after I had left it behind. They went above and beyond to ensure it was safely sent back to me, which I am very grateful for. Thank you to the team for the excellent hospitality and service. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others."

"Nestled on a hillside overlooking the bay, the hotel is absolutely stunning on a clear day. The garden has direct access to the beach, though climbing the stairs back up can be quite a workout. The room facilities were comprehensive and newer than I had anticipated. The hotel was quite busy with guests from various countries, indicating it's indeed very foreigner-friendly. However, this also led to some issues. For instance, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) isn't very large, so it felt quite crowded with so many international visitors. What was even more dismaying was the blatant disregard for onsen etiquette. I personally witnessed several instances, including but not limited to: two Chinese female tourists in swimsuits in the outdoor bath, one of whom was sitting at the edge, soaking her legs while drinking a beverage, with a full face of makeup – I half expected her to pull out her phone for a 'perfect shot.' Additionally, two women, possibly from Eastern Europe or Russia, covered in tattoos, wore their slippers directly into the changing area and then just left them thrown under the lockers. Such sights were off-putting, so we decided not to use the onsen on our second night. The hotel actually provides guests with a leaflet on Japanese onsen etiquette upon check-in, but clearly, some people just don't bother to read it. I suggest the hotel increases staff patrols in the onsen area to promptly identify and address these uncivilized behaviors. On another note, when we first entered our room, it felt stuffy, so we opened the window, which unfortunately let in some mosquitoes. After contacting the front desk, they promptly sent up an electric mosquito repellent, which was a thoughtful gesture. We stayed for two nights, both on a half-board basis (dinner and breakfast). The dinner was a Western-style set menu, with at least 7 courses. Both the presentation and content were Michelin-level and absolutely delicious. Finally, the hotel's shuttle bus service is quite frequent. In the mornings, there are four buses that stop at Shimoda Park, which is perfect for seeing the hydrangeas."

"The hotel has a very nice location and incredible views. The staff is super friendly. We had breakfast and dinner included, which were served in a private room. The food was delicious, very fresh, with an excellent service. The only thing is the hotel, even when it was well maintained, looked a little bit old fashioned. Nevertheless we found this happens with Japanese hotels."

"The hotel is very beautiful and clean. The food is exceptionally good (if you can get any) and beautifully presented. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint is this: I expect to be able to eat at a hotel with a restaurant. On the afternoon of our arrival, we inquired about dinner. We were then informed that dinner had to be ordered the day before (!!). We did this for the second day. Unfortunately, this information wasn't communicated, and so there was no dinner on the second evening either. On the third day, it worked out. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, an absolute sensation. After dinner, we immediately booked dinner again for our fourth and final evening. However, we were then unfortunately informed that this wasn't possible due to staff shortages!! In my opinion, this is unacceptable. A hotel must be able to offer its guests dinner, even without a pre-order, even if it's just something simple. I understand that I have to pre-order a dinner like the one we had on the third evening. But no option at all, that's unacceptable."

They'll give you advice and even help with transporting your suitcases! 100 out of 100 recommendation! Great breakfasts! It's a shame we missed dinner; be sure to book a reservation with a sea view and breakfast! Book dinner the day before! You can also book the upper or lower onsen the same day!"

"There happened to be an opening, and the reviews were good, so I went there with my three children. The room with an open-air bath was close to the lobby, which was helpful. There are free drinks in the lobby, which I think is great service. The open-air bath in the guest room was nice and large enough, and above all, the garden gives you a sense of spaciousness. Many inns have installed open-air baths for the time being, but this is wonderful. The large public bath is normal...I guess. The quality of the bath in the room was so high that I only used it once. For dinner, the spiny lobster sashimi was the best. Breakfast is also nice and has a lot of variety. I'm a little disappointed that the staff didn't seem to be that attentive. As the reviews said, it was a good inn to enjoy an extraordinary experience."

"There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, which is very convenient for going to Shirahama Beach and Tsumekizaki. The food was mainly fish and fresh, but the miso soup was a little salty and the drinks seemed a little pricey. The room had a calming, old-fashioned atmosphere, but the lighting was a little dim. I think it would be more comfortable if the air conditioning and the hot water in the bathroom were improved. Rates are higher during the Obon period, so it is recommended to stay on weekdays."
