"Outside of Winter and Summer season visit. Mountains are beautiful but it really is an out of season resort otherwise. Hotel has seen better days and strikes as a ski type hostel fur functionality albeit Lake View was nice. Must have a car otherwise taxi to nearby Kurohime railway. Can't say I am a great fan of half plate of lettuce with scrambled eggs for breakfast and no evening food avail at hotel as restaurant closed seasonal again. Hoped for a better experience and chose to leave early albeit forecast pouring rain on departure day helped come to that decision. Also visited similar lake facility on Hokkaido and found that a disappointment too. Thankful for lift to the station one day from owner. Get any provisions for your room before arriving as not available at the lake itself."

"The hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. We arrived after 11 PM due to heavy snow, and the staff waited for us the whole time. Check-in usually closes at 10 PM, so we were very grateful for their patience. Amenities were limited, so you need to bring your own towels and toiletries. The wooden structure makes soundproofing and insulation a bit lacking, but overall it's a very good value hotel. The snow scenery around the hotel is absolutely stunning."

"The receptionist was very kind and welcome. The room is much bigger than I expected. I preferred the Onsen at the harvest hotel even though we can use the one at the Tangram hotel. Tangram hotel Onsen has too many people and was really crowded. Dinner was better than I expected as well. Ski in ski out. Perfect for family."

"When I checked in, I said, "I got lost because I couldn't find the entrance from the lakeside road," but the host only laughed, "Hehe." It was unfriendly. At dinner, I ordered a room-temperature sake bottle, but it took a while to arrive. I called out to the owner, thinking he might have forgotten, and received a sullen response: "I'm getting it now." Don't show your anger. At breakfast, I could see the lobby from my seat, so I casually glanced over and saw the young host, who I'd met at check-in, sitting in a guest chair and playing with his smartphone. There was no sense of tension. I was convinced that this inn had poor customer service skills. I don't think it matters whether the room rate is cheap or expensive, or whether the facilities are old or new. What's important is the pride and sense of tension in their work. However, I was saved by the conversation I had with the hostess, who I assumed was the hostess, at dinner, and she was elegant and polite."

"I stayed here for two days and one night from May 4th during Golden Week. The building is old, but it has been renovated and there were no particular issues. The room was a triple room, clean, and had a great view. The bath had a bit of a Showa-era feel to it, but it was functional and there were no problems. The breakfast was probably two stars compared to Japanese hotels, but it was by no means inferior in taste. I got the impression that this hotel is frequented by foreigners. If I had one request, it would be a washlet."

"I’m so excited to share a review for this amazing couple. Kazuo-san and his wife were very kind and caring throughout my entire stay. They had the right amenities for a Bed and Breakfast that caters to ski lovers and snow boarders. The B&B is also a more traditional and heritage kind, preserving the authentic looks through time, they’ve been running this for 35 beautiful years. If you’d like, dinner is also available as an add-on, nothing beats a high value home-cooked food, made from the heart. I’ll highly recommend this location, Kazuo-san also goes the extra mile to drop you off at the pick-up points if you don’t have your own car. Beyond that Kazuo-san is also very knowledgeable and informed with the latest news, so he’s able to recommend good ski resorts, summer activities or even delve into the history of surrounding areas like Kurohime and more. I was quite shocked to see some earlier reviews by other foreigners that rated this location quite poorly when they don’t understand what they’ve booked. This is a bed and breakfast inn and it’s every inch authentic as it should be. So if you’re looking for a fuss-free stay with friendly authentic folks, this should be on your list."
