Taormina Hotels with Airport Shuttle

"I decided to celebrate my next birthday in Taormina at the renowned Excelsior Palace Hotel. Built in 1904, the hotel exudes a sense of history and age, from the lobby to the rooms. Initially, I was given a single room without a balcony, but at my request, reception upgraded me to a room with a balcony on the ground floor, right next to the lobby bar, which was very convenient. The hotel is heated by a central air conditioning system, which is loud but warm. Then, the next morning, I was awakened by construction noise—renovations were underway right next door in the bathroom, with a drill at work. I contacted reception, and they upgraded me to a deluxe room (a newer double room on the second floor). The move was a bit of a hassle—packing up, unpacking, and so on. And then, the next day, I had to check out, meaning packing up again. But the room was large and spacious, and it didn't heat up as quickly. If you turn off the noisy air conditioner, it's cold. The breakfast is monotonous: eggs, sausages, cheeses, vegetables, cereal, yogurt, nuts, sorbet, and pastries. On the second day, the coffee machine broke. I had to ask the waiters to bring coffee several times. For a hotel of this level, not fixing the coffee machine is very strange! Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the rooms are old and not worth the price in high season; they're just paying for the name of the chain. Water from the minibar in the room is extra, there are no robes, and they didn't even congratulate me on my birthday. The tax is 4 euros per day. The hallway on the ground floor smells good. I didn't like that at breakfast I had to ask for a second cup of cappuccino, look for the waiter, and they don't ask me again whether I want coffee or not, they seem to be doing me a favor."

"The room was very satisfied. On the 2nd floor, I didn't imagine the music on the roof at night. The highlight was that there was free lemonade at the front desk and you could help call a taxi to the bus terminal (note that when the taxi checkout, make sure that they are the same as said in advance, they may temporarily increase the price). We have been allowed to climb the stairs according to Google Maps navigation. Later, we contacted the hotel to inform us that there is no way to climb the stairs, and arranged for someone to pick us up. It felt very good. Taormina is on the mountainside, with a certain slope, and it is really awkward to drag the luggage. There is a bus stop sign at Taormina Railway Station. You can sit on the mountainside or the top of the mountain. When the car is coming, there will be a special cashier to collect the money. One person will come to the mountainside."

"The hotel has an exceptional location overlooking the Etna volcano, but high above Taormina. The road to the hotel is quite challenging, solid, but steep and very winding, going up ramps or the far edge of a steep hill. The hotel is beautiful, architecturally interesting, the receptionist a little haughty, a little shy, but once you put that aside and look out into the countryside, then it's OK. Breakfast could have been richer. The hotel is worth a visit and a stay."

"Lovely hotel with good location and parking spot 15-20 drives from Taormina, perfect place to stay between Taormina and Mount Etna. HIghly recommend spacious clean place with unbeaten price / has place to drop off luggage before and after checkin-out. Also available for late checkin with instructions to the room printed out. Only downside is if you have lots of luggages as you need to climb the stair up or down to get to your room. But overall we are very happy! Would recommend!"

"Great experience! Everything was really good. We had a room with terass and a view of the sea. It was stunning. Room was very clean and sheets where changed daily, which was nice when you have two dogs that sneak into bed during the night. Location was great. A short distance walk to the town center with shops and restaurants. The parking service was great. They park the car for you and when you need it they will bring the car in front of the hotel within 15 minutes. It will cost you 20€/ night but it's hassle free. Staff is fantastic. We arrived around 6AM (much earlier than expected), and way too early for the normal check-in time. We were absolutely exhausted after a night of driving and our room wasn't ready. But the staff was kind enough to give us a room to sleep in, and at 11AM we could check-in to our booked room. Free of charge! Breakfast was also great and they do packed breakfast if you leave before breakfast time. The hotel doesn't do laundry, but there is a laundry place 800m away."

"Taormina is the true way to experience Sicily. If I had to choose only one city for a relaxing vacation in Italy, it would have to be Taormina. 👍 This town, made famous by the movie ”White Lotus Resort,” fulfilled my every imagination. The sea and streetscapes are simply breathtaking. I booked Eurostar flights from Palermo to Taormina, and I have to say it was the right choice! The cliff-top hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. The room has a private balcony, and the view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and pool is truly a welcome relief from the travel. The breakfast was just as plentiful as the Eurostar experience, with sweet fruit and delicious smoothies. Watching the pigeons on the terrace while enjoying breakfast was truly relaxing. The only downside was the old hairdryer, which I think is a common problem with European hotels. Could Dyson sponsor it, hahahaha. 😄 PS: The hotel is very close to Piazza 9 degli Abril and the ancient Greek theater. The town is wonderful to explore and has a variety of delicious food. Taormina is definitely the best city in southern Italy!"

"We had a last minute change with my husband and my father (52, and 83) to Taormina and so it was a challenge with very little prep time where to stay in a vertical place with my elderly father who is in good shape but challenged by long walks, inclines and extreme heat. We did it all-- close to the bus station (4 minutes), Corso Umberto (8 minutes), the Antico Teatrico and the view cannot be beat. There's souvenir shops and a mini mart within 4 minutes walk and the cable car is also only 5 minutes away. My husband and I enjoyed the pool and the views. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the next morning before leaving. No one could be more helpful or nicer in this hotel. CONS: It's a steep driveway to climb up and down for the elderly. Watching my dad in either direction was a little dicey and with his blood thinners I did not want him to take a spill. PROS: Everything else."
