"I booked the hotel directly through their website, and the room was listed as a double or twin room. In the comments, I requested a twin room. When we checked in, they claimed there were no twin rooms available. Since we were only staying two nights, we made do with the double bed. Everything was very clean. The room and bathroom seemed newly renovated. Unfortunately, the rain shower had very weak water pressure. The hotel is about 500 meters from the narrow sandy beach. Parking spaces are scarce, but there was one free space behind the building. Contrary to previous reviews, the breakfast was very good. The buffet offered both cold and daily changing hot dishes. Coffee and hot water are available from a machine. There are nine sun loungers by the small pool. The patio door has a mosquito net. Upon checkout, I was suddenly charged an extra €10, supposedly for a tourist tax. However, my booking confirmation already included a city tax and a climate resilience tax, but no mention of this dubious tax. At least they gave me a receipt for it. We certainly won't become regulars and we won't be coming back."

Alkioni by the Sea ★★★

"We stayed at Hotel Alkioni by the Sea, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The room constantly smelled like sewage, and even with the door closed it was very noisy. We had to sleep on a waterproof underpad, the mattresses were dirty, and so was the bathroom. In fact, the whole room was unclean and poorly maintained. For the price we paid and compared to how the hotel is presented online, our expectations were much higher. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel, and we truly hope that management will take action to improve the conditions."

"Terrible hotel, the staff mostly Ukrainians who doesn't speak English were very rude to the guest, one so could lifeguard was never by the pool ,he only arrived to yell to the kids in the pool, the rooms were never cleaned and they give clean towers and toilet paper in every 4 days that is so absurd. I do not recommend this hotel !!!"
