"The room was clean and comfortable but dated. The air conditioner is in the bedroom but was able to cleap the entire apartment cool. The one television was in the living room. I was impressed by the cleanliness because this is the only place I visited in Sosua that did not have an ant problem. It is easy to find and everyone there was very friendly."

"Impeccable service, breakfast, copious and delicious. Smiling and friendly staff."

Coco Hotel
"I enjoyed my recent stay at the Coco Hotel. The location worked out great for me in relation to beaches/food/shopping/etc. The owner Shelly and her family/staff were excellent hosts that provided me with much useful information. While at the hotel; I also had a number of inciteful/interesting conversations with other guests that helped me better understand the Dominican culture. I am hoping at some point to make it back to Sosua and plan to stay at the Coco hotel again. MDR"

Coral Blanco Hotel
Hotel Sea Breeze
"Staff was very nice. However, while in the property you will not be able to nap in the middle of the day if that is your thing, it is way to loud since right in front of your window is the main street and lots of motorcycles pass by along with cars with hooked up loud music. if you are going with family you are better off staying in Puerto Plata or Cabarete. Sosua is really a town for men if you know what i mean. In this hotel you will be woken up by noise and talking people by usually 6-7 am. This happens any day/night while i stayed here. This hotel is about 20 mins from Cabarete and 30 from Puerto Plata. For a good night out of dancing i recommend visiting “Ojos” restaurant/club on the water which is located in Cabarete. In Sosua we checked out Santa Fe, it was very nice with good music and multiple pools and great staff and they also had cabanas."

Infiniti Blu Luxury Ocean Front Condos
"It used to be good but since the last hurricane there’s no beach, just giant razor sharp rock with huge rough waves, Pool cloudy whitish water, no towels at check in and towels took a few hours to arrive, the place has gone downhill with severe decline in quality and service As soon you check in someone knocks on your door and they harass you with TimeShare sales pitch Then they charged almost $50 for electricity for 2 people on a 2 night stay And on top of all of that they robbed my portable speaker, first they confirmed that they have it and secured it in safe place under my name and room, but when I went to pick it up, the front desk person said ohh, what happened is that another person came and said they lost a speaker on the same day too and they gave him mine, I showed him the email how they confirm they have it, I asked show me the record of someone else talking about speaker on same day, and how come you claim you gave them the one the one that was saved for my name and room number, he got flustered and sad ohh I don’t have those records, this front desk male was very unprofessional, shouted and called insults trying to cover up their theft, a worker there told me that it may very well be the front desk person who stole it himself"

"First: I don't often take the time to write reviews and when I do, RARELY leave a 5 star review for anything, I think it's kinda cheesy and I feel like people probably write it off as fake. So having said all that, I am taking the time because Maravilla deserves every bit of 5 stars in my opinion. If you've looked at pictures and read reviews then you know that Maravilla is a unique place. Beautiful, very well done, well maintained elegantly rustic tree house "Robinson Crusoe-esque, type of place. The cabinas are so cool, very comfortable, clean, airy, and cozy. Mosquito nets are provided however honestly because of the constant refreshing breeze coming off the ocean all night are not really needed. But a very thoughtful gesture. We stayed in the treehouse family bungalow that has two levels, it has a jump off platform right into the pool for refreshing morning plunges after a night of incredible slumber, lulled to sleep by waves breaking on the beach 150 feet away. My experience of the staff is that they were all fun, helpful and accommodating. I am working on becoming more fluent with Spanish and all the people were more than happy to patiently entertain my efforts, give encouraging feedback but also helpful correction. That's a rarity in my experience. I was also so fortunate to have an opportunity to do an hour yoga session with Clemence the manager/on site yoga instructor. What a delightful person she is! and what an incredible experience. The one hour felt more like five, and was so incredibly relaxing, calming, centering....ALL the things I needed in that moment to ground myself and set the remainder of my voyage on such a positive track. I agree with other reviewers the beach is gorgeous, it is also quite private, not crowded like beaches down in Cabarete. Night time fires are permitted which is a big bonus to me. I love chilling by a nice late night beach fire!! I can't say enough great things about Maravilla. I'm not a resort person, I fell most at home in places like this that foster a bit of a sense of feeling away, and just a bit more intrepid. I'm just not the resort type, I don't like feeling like a pampered, over indulgent, walking ATM machine... I am so thankful when I can find options like maravilla on my travels. Some other places I have stayed in the same vein are Martz farm in Belize, and Tendacayou in Guadeloupe. Very similar type places with similar rustic elegance. Much love to you Maravilla staff!! Please keep up the great work."

Sosua by the Sea Boutique Beach Resort
"A hidden gem in a tropical paradise, Sosua by the Sea Hotel is undergoing a complete renaissance. Having recently regained ownership, the family that built this 90-room, 3-story boutique hotel is infusing it with improvements inside and out. Only 15 minutes from POP airport, the hotel is nestled in a quiet section of town right on the waterfront. Sequestered from the noise of partygoers and motoconchos, at Sosua by the Sea there are no boisterous crowds or group activities, just a serene setting in which to relax and regenerate. The hotel is remarkably well run with a capable and caring staff to attend to your every need. Attention is given to each guest. The staff, including 24/7 security, ensures a peaceful, safe environment in which to unwind and enjoy the climate and the culture of the Dominican Republic."
