La Belle Vue Boutique Hotel & Café ★★★

"Spiez itself is quite small, and the hotel is very close to the train station. We stayed in Spiez and took the train every morning to visit Grindelwald, Zermatt, and Interlaken, which was very convenient. If you arrive late, you can self-check-in. I thought our room would be small because we booked the last one, but it turned out to be very spacious (at least much larger than an Ibis room) and comfortable. When checking in at night, I saw free bread and fruit available for guests to take. In the morning, you can buy bread downstairs for a few Swiss francs to take with you as snacks for the road. The only downside is that the Coop in Spiez closes too early and is closed on weekends. However, public transport in Switzerland is so convenient that you can just take a one-stop train to the Coop at Bern train station."

Belvédère Strandhotel ★★★★

"We booked a room with a large balcony, but the floor was too low. The view wasn't great. We requested a higher floor when booking, but that wasn't possible. The room didn't have heating. The lowest temperature in Spiez was already 5°C. The room was very cold. Later, the hotel provided a small heater, but it was very noisy and didn't provide warmth, making it unusable. The hotel is very expensive, and the facilities don't match the price! The hotel is far from the train station, and the uphill and downhill roads are difficult to navigate. The station shuttle service requires advance booking and is charged. Very unfriendly!"

"The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the train station and very quiet. The soundproofing isn't great, which is a common issue with European hotels, so you might want to bring your own headphones or earplugs. The breakfast was fantastic; we ate our fill every day before heading out to explore the surroundings. It was a great experience! The only downside is the hilly terrain, which isn't ideal for older people. I'd recommend it for younger travelers."

"Check-in at the front desk was a bit slow, but the service was very good. Because it's a small town, there are no places to buy things nearby. The busiest place is the train station. The road from the hotel to the train station is all uphill and very difficult to walk. The most convenient way to get to the hotel is by boat, as the pier is very close."
