Roamer St Kilda
7.9 (80 reviews)

Roamer St Kilda ★★★

📍 24 Grey St, St Kilda

"Nice room, however toilets kept blocking up every couple days and the showers could be a bit cleaner. There was one shower on our floor and 2 toilets which didn’t seem like enough. The vibe of the place is nice and the people"

Bayside House

Bayside House ★★

📍 14/16 Punt Rd, St Kilda

"If you are finding a local job and want your cheapest stay in the meantime, then this hostel is fine. Or if you want to keep to yourself. But, Not an ideal hostel for a solo traveler on holidays. As someone looking for a vibrant atmosphere/ community I felt sad and unwelcome. French community and long term residents who all keep to themselves. Nice enough if you make an effort, but it isn’t naturally inclusive or receptive. Reception does not create a vibe with music or a welcoming atmosphere as they are never really at the desk. If you need anything it can be difficult. Kitchen is lovely and welll organised, but lacking basic amenities like cups, glasses and mugs. As someone who worked in hotels the last year I would have really appreciated the simple gesture of instant coffee or tea. Considering many hostels offer basic breakfast. 2 showers on my floor (hostel has over 100 people and only 2 floors so you do the math). Bathrooms get pretty gross with the foot traffic and could probably use a twice daily clean - but that isn’t necessarily realistic for hostel volunteers. They do a nice job of vacuuming the rooms each day and emptying bins which I appreciate. They mop the main area daily and kitchen looks lovely (until it’s destroyed at night but is to be expected). The beds I found comfy but the blankets do not have a duvet cover or a sheet to separate so we can only hope they wash the entire blanket every time ? Not bad, not great. A few small changes could go a long way."

In the Brick Spa and Hotel
8.8 (16 reviews)

In the Brick Spa and Hotel ★★★★

📍 22 Wellington St, St Kilda

"From the second I walked into In The Brick Spa & Hotel, I felt like I’d stumbled into a peaceful sanctuary tucked away in one of Melbourne’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The whole place has this really calming energy. Japanese-inspired design, warm wood tones, thoughtful minimalism – it just sets the tone straight away. I stayed in one of their beautiful rooms and honestly, I didn’t want to leave. Super spacious, beautifully styled, and the bath… wow. After a long day out exploring St Kilda, sinking into that deep soaking tub felt like a dream. Everything was spotless and so well thought-out. From the lighting to the little touches that make you feel at home but elevated. The highlight though ? Definitely the spa. You can book many services like a hot stone massage. The staff are incredibly skilled and genuinely care about how you're feeling. It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect and recharge. Big shout out to the team too. Everyone I interacted with was kind, welcoming, and attentive without ever being overbearing. You can really feel that they want you to have a great experience. If you’re ever in Melbourne and looking for something that’s not your standard hotel, but something more special, intimate, and wellness-focused ! In The Brick is it. I left feeling rested, inspired, and already thinking about my next visit."

Roamer St Kilda ★★★
"It's a pretty standard hostel. It was quite difficult to get through when there was a lot of luggage in the hallway. However, the staff were kind, and considering the price, I'm satisfied."

Tolarno Hotel ★★★
"it knows what it is, basic clean reasonable accommodation in a fantastic location. Not trying to be anything but it’s not. Old building of course could be done up but of course then all prices would go up equivalently so again and come back to the original point it’s simple basic accommodation that is useful when you need a quick night accommodation. Instructions were really good getting into the place late at night. The room was immaculately clean even if it was old. Overall would stay there if I needed accommodation for one night. I would suggest a touch expensive for what it is. "

Nomads St Kilda ★★★
"This hostel is located in St. Kilda. It seems to be a chain hostel, as there's another one in downtown Melbourne with the same name. The room was overcrowded for its size, making it feel like a chicken coop. There was only one bathroom for all the people, so having to use the one in the lobby bar was inconvenient. Also, having to download an app to use the keypad wasn't very appealing. Breakfast was limited to pancakes and toast, but it was free, so that's understandable. The soy milk and lemon juice were really nice, and the cheap happy hour beers were really nice."

"The location wasn't bad and the facilities weren't that great, but it wasn't a big problem. The room size is suitable for a single person, but it is a bit small for two people."

In the Brick Spa and Hotel ★★★★
"I didn’t know what to expect when I booked a night at In The Brick Spa & Hotel, but WOW – this place blew me away. It’s like stepping into a peaceful little world the moment you walk through the door. The space is stunning – think Japanese zen meets modern boutique hotel. Every detail is so carefully thought out. The design is just stunning – imagine Japanese zen meets modern boutique hotel. The scent of hinoki wood, the soft lighting, and the gentle music instantly made me feel calm and grounded. Every element of the space has been so thoughtfully curated – from the minimalist interiors and handcrafted décor to the seamless flow of the rooms. It’s clear that a lot of heart and intention went into creating this experience."
