This hotel opened fairly recently, so all the facilities are brand new. We stayed here for two nights as part of a chartered car tour, and it was excellent. The Japanese bathing culture, in particular, is something truly worth experiencing. Don't worry about transportation; you can ask the front desk staff to help you call a taxi. They are very friendly and polite, so even if there's a language barrier, it's not an issue at all – just use your phone to translate and show them you need a taxi, and one will arrive in about 5 minutes. You can also cook here, which was great for our family of three on a parent-child trip as we bought lots of ingredients. The only thing we couldn't quite figure out was the trash separation, but it wasn't a huge hassle. If you don't know how to sort it, just bag everything together by material and leave it on the deck outside your door. For anyone staying in a homestay in Japan, definitely do your research beforehand! It was a perfect experience.

Pros: The location is superb, directly opposite Mount Fuji, though I only had a couple of hours of view during my two or three-day stay. The hotel was very clean. I had dinner at the hotel both nights, including sukiyaki in the room one night, which was quite good. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable.
Cons: The rooms were a bit small and dated for the several thousand yuan per night price, making the overall value poor. The hotel is a camping-themed hotel, so if you're not interested in camping, there's no need to spend so much money on a stay at Hoshino.

劈柴Since all other room types were unavailable, we stayed in a 6-person room. It was incredibly spacious, and pretty much every room offered an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji (weather permitting). The bathroom was huge and even had a private onsen and a sauna. Each room type came with dinner (BBQ) and breakfast for two. The portions were decent, though don't expect too much from the breakfast. The location is great, very close to Lake Yamanaka's attractions, only about a 10-minute drive away. There's also a fairly large supermarket right next door, just a minute's drive, which was super convenient for restocking. However, due to the glamping site's location, you can't see the sunrise with Mount Fuji in the same frame. I had planned to wake up early to catch the sunrise, but it turns out the sun rises on the opposite side. Overall, aside from being a bit pricey, everything else was perfect. The staff were very nice, and their English communication was excellent.

Jocynwe loved this hotel the most as it had a mini garden we could enjoy, room was super clean and modern vibe. Interesting how their breakfast was delivered to our room in a wooden box. there was welcome drinks sparkling wine. Do note that you need to book their dinner (for mains) in advance (preferably 1 day in advance), latest till 3pm of the same day. We didn’t know and arrived at 4+ so we missed the timing, however we managed to still dine in and ordered their appetisers and snacks, which were also filling enough. the latest late check out we could get was till 11.30am. location is slightly inaccessible if you dont drive. we rented a car so it was still okay for us.

A great hotel, a hotel in the forest! On the first floor of the townhouse, there are two double suites with separate bathrooms, and an LDK. The small bar in the LDK is equipped with an induction cooker, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee machine. Outside the LDK is a forest courtyard. Every morning, there will be a parking shuttle to the door of the room to pick up for dinner (book breakfast time in advance). The restaurant on the fifth floor offers a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. The hotel has its own hot springs, SPA, pet-friendly, tennis courts, billiards room, and considerate Chinese front desk service. Book a shuttle bus in advance for travel (from the hotel to Kawaguchiko Station). The overall feeling is a real vacation-style travel!
