At dawn, the rising crimson sun softly tints the snow-covered slopes of Mount Fuji with hues of golden red. Its reflection dances upon the shimmering surface of Lake Yamanaka, creating the breathtaking sight known as the “Double Red Fuji”—a miraculous moment when heaven and earth mirror each other in radiant harmony. It is a masterpiece crafted wholly by nature, inspiring awe with its quiet beauty. Our hotel is located just over ten meters from the lakeshore. Within a few seconds’ walk, you can reach the water’s edge and experience these magnificent, fleeting scenes with ease. Fujikokusai Kaikan Hotel is a villa-style retreat situated just across Lakeside Avenue, moments away from Lake Yamanaka. All guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning and heating, a smart TV, hair dryer, and electric kettle. The bathroom area features a separate toilet, bath, and vanity. Warm interiors combining carpet and tatami offer the comfort of both Japanese and Western styles.

"This hotel is located right by Lake Yamanaka. You can see Mount Fuji across the street from the entrance, and the hotel also offers bicycle rentals. It's about a 10-minute bike ride to Hirano Beach. Getting here is convenient; you can take a direct bus from Tokyo to Yamanakako Asahigaoka Station, and the hotel owner even provides pick-up service from nearby stations around Lake Yamanaka. The hotel has an old-fashioned inn feel, but it's very clean, and the rooms are incredibly spacious! It was very quiet at night, so I slept really well overall. The breakfast was also excellent – what could be better than a hot breakfast after watching the sunrise on a cold morning?"

"A hidden gem of a hotel with spectacular views of Mount Fuji! I booked a random room just a week before Golden Week, and upon entering, I was immediately struck by how spacious and bright it was. The room itself was also very roomy and incredibly clean. Both of their hot springs offer direct, panoramic views of Mount Fuji! The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the breakfast restaurant started my day off beautifully. It happened to be Children's Day in Japan, and the hotel thoughtfully provided games and movies for the kids. I was very satisfied with this stay. I highly recommend staying two or three nights – it's truly rejuvenating."

"We just passed two great nights in this lovely hotel in the heart of Mount Fuji. I highly recommend coming here, specially if you love Vietnamese food like me haha. The rooms are big with a good size balcony (unusual in Japan) the amenities are excellent, the bath is big and very functional and the staff is very nice The location is perfect with just 14 minutes walking from the station and just 10 minutes away from a big shopping mall, supermarkets at just 4 minutes and obviously Mount Fuji just in front of you, everybody wants to wake up with Fuji-San and a coffee. Also very family friendly from what I saw with multiple families with kids."

"I really liked the hotel overall 1. The staff was very nice and knew some english so conversation was possible. Fast response times in chat is good service 2. Breakfast was really good 3. Location is very good, got bus stops around the hotel and you can use google maps to know which buses to take, when they come. I used suica card on apple wallet or on app on the scanner when boarding the bus to get around. The bus which is like 5 minutes walk can take you to lake kawaguchiko, gotemba premium outlets, and more. You also got lawson within 4 minutes walk which is a pretty cool convenience store that also has things like katsu sandwiches and cheeseburgers for snacks, ogino a grocery store within 6 min walk, and some other soup restaurants like udon and hoto noodles 4. Close to the lake pier which is great for biking around Lake Yamanaka which was probably my favorite part of visiting besides the local food it is what I would say life changingly beautiful 5. The onsen which is inside the hotel was very relaxing and nice, and you can put cold water into it if its too hot Now i haven't been to other hotels around the area so I cant compare but I would definitely come again"

"Stayed: May 26, 2026 | 1 night | Room 4F Fuji View Room My partner and I recently enjoyed a memorable one-night romantic escape at Ooike Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko on May 26, 2026, and it exceeded every expectation we had for a special couple’s getaway centered around Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji. We specifically booked a Fuji View room on the 4th floor, and from the very first moment we entered, we knew we had made the perfect choice. Our journey to the hotel was smooth. After arriving at Kawaguchiko Station in the late afternoon, we took a short taxi ride through the charming streets lined with cherry blossom remnants and fresh spring greenery. The hotel’s exterior already hinted at traditional Japanese elegance mixed with modern comfort — a beautiful ryokan-style building nestled in a peaceful area with excellent access to the lake and mountain views. Upon check-in, the staff greeted us warmly with genuine smiles and a small welcome gift of local tea. They took the time to explain the facilities, meal times, and onsen rules in clear English, which was greatly appreciated as we were international visitors. The entire process felt personal and unhurried, setting a relaxing tone for our short stay. Stepping into our 4F Fuji View room was breathtaking. The room was generously spacious for a couple, featuring a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese and comfortable Western elements. Elegant tatami mats covered part of the floor, inviting us to sit and relax in the classic seiza style or simply lounge with cushions. The sleeping area had a high-quality Western-style bed setup that was firm yet plush, ensuring a restful night. Large picture windows dominated one entire wall, framing an almost surreal, unobstructed panorama of Mount Fuji. On May 26, the weather cooperated beautifully. As the late afternoon sun began to soften, we watched the iconic snow-capped peak glow in warm golden light. The mountain stood majestic against a clear blue sky, its details crisp and vivid. We spent nearly an hour just sitting by the window, holding hands, and absorbing the view in comfortable silence. As evening approached, the colors shifted dramatically — pinks and oranges painted the sky during a stunning sunset, turning Fuji into a silhouette masterpiece. Later at night, with the room lights dimmed, we could still see the mountain’s outline under the stars, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere that felt almost private to us alone. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the private open-air bath (rotenburo) attached to our room. This luxurious feature made our couple’s experience truly special. The bath was filled with silky, mineral-rich onsen water that felt incredibly soothing on the skin after a day of travel. We took turns soaking together while gazing directly at Mount Fuji. There’s something profoundly intimate and unforgettable about sharing a hot spring bath outdoors with your loved one, surrounded by nature and that legendary mountain view. The water temperature was perfect, and the wooden tub design blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings. We enjoyed it once in the evening under the stars and again early the next morning as the sky lightened. Each session left us refreshed, relaxed, and deeply connected. Beyond our private bath, the hotel’s public onsen facilities on the upper floors were equally impressive. We visited the larger gender-separated baths in the evening and found them spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly uncrowded. The panoramic windows there offered even wider Fuji vistas, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the scenery while enjoying the therapeutic waters. The variety of indoor and outdoor pools, along with different jet options, provided a complete onsen experience that complemented our private bath perfectly. Dinner was another standout element that elevated our stay. Served in a private dining room reserved just for us, the kaiseki-style course was a culinary journey th"

GGuest UserThis is not a hotel, is a 3 level Villa with a rooftop overlooking the Mount Fuji. The place is very remote not advisable for someone do not have a transport. The villa is huge and there are 4 beds. 2 at level 1 and level 2. Rooftop is open air and can do BBQ though need to pay a rental of 50000yen per person. The bathroom is very clean and nice and overlooking at Mt. Fuji. After all , is suitable for a big family stay, and the place is not cheap. I book it for the experience and the appealing factor of able to overlook the Mt. Fuji.

GGuest UserGreat hotel with the best Mount Fuji view! Though small things could be improved. Like having coffee in the room, having the balcony glass cleaned to have a clear view of the mountain and maybe insulating more the windows/doors - as it was very easy to hear everything going around the hotel or the people in the street and our room was 4th floor, we could still hear people at night. The food was great quality, however buffet style always drags down a bit of the experience, especially when it wasn’t a low/mid budget hotel. But that’s just an opinion. But overall, grateful to have had experienced mount Fuji from this hotel. ☺️🗻

Xxuanxuan0824This place is highly recommended if you're just looking to relax and enjoy the scenery. However, it's not very convenient for independent travelers. There are no shops, no taxis, and no bicycles. Buses are also infrequent, making it really difficult to get around. The only upside is waking up to a view of Mount Fuji from your room. I'd suggest staying in the city; you can still see Mount Fuji from there and have easy access to transportation. Both breakfast and dinner were just okay.

MMiketecWhen I booked, I double-checked with the hotel to confirm that the room would have a window directly facing Lake Kawaguchiko, as well as another window with a view of Mount Fuji. However, upon entering the room, I found there was only one window, and I had to crane my neck to catch a glimpse of Lake Kawaguchiko. The room next door (X11) clearly had one window directly facing the lake and another with a Mount Fuji view. Why weren't we given that room? We booked in early to mid-May, and we even arrived at the hotel before 4 PM on the day of check-in. On top of that, the bathroom in our room was ridiculously small; even an average-sized woman, let alone a man, would struggle to close the door once inside 😂. This was also my first time staying at a Japanese onsen hotel where almost 80% of the staff were non-Japanese, which probably explains why most of the guests were Westerners 🤣. And it was also my first time at an onsen hotel where there were absolutely no skincare products in the onsen area. Were they perhaps so afraid of 'foreigners' misusing them that they stopped providing them altogether?? 🥹

KKarina Ch.Our stay at this hotel in Yamanakako was absolutely wonderful. The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery and such a peaceful atmosphere. Everything was spotless and very well maintained. We stayed in a Japanese-style room, and it exceeded all of our highest expectations — spacious, comfortable, authentic, and truly special. The breakfast was delicious and incredibly generous. There was so much food that it was difficult to finish everything! The grounds around the hotel are also beautifully arranged and cared for, creating a very relaxing environment. We also had dinner there, which was excellent and offered at a very reasonable price. Yamanakako itself is much calmer and more peaceful than Kawaguchiko, so for us it was definitely the better choice. We highly recommend both the area and this hotel to anyone looking for a more relaxing stay near Mount Fuji. The only possible downside for some travelers might be the limited transportation options, but for us it was not a problem at all. There is a bus that circles the lake, and we easily reached Oshino, Fujiyoshida, and Kawaguchiko. In the evenings the town becomes wonderfully quiet, which was actually a huge advantage. After busy days in Tokyo, the silence and calmness here felt deeply relaxing. The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. We would especially like to thank them because my husband accidentally left his insulin medication in the refrigerator in our room. We did not even realize it was missing. After finding it during cleaning, the staff contacted us immediately and literally drove to the bus stop just five minutes before our bus to Mishima arrived to hand us the medication personally. We were truly touched by their kindness and care. This level of hospitality is rare and unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

Bbrayden_foongIt was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

GGuest UserThe staff at Fuji Premium Resort went above and beyond to help us when we had some difficulties.  When we went it was snowing hard and had been involved in a minor car accident. The staff kept registration open late, got us food at no extra charge from the gift shop because the dining area was closed, and arranged transportation for us to get back to our car the next day because it was not able to get up the hill in the icy conditions and no other cost.  The rooms were nice and comfortable and the buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious.  Would absolutely stay with them again.
