"My husband booked a two night stay at Painter's lodge for my birthday. Apparently the lodge is under new management and just opened 2 days before our stay. This lodge must have been quite the hotel in its day. It needs a lot of work and with love and care I think it will reach its original beauty. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant and bar were not up and running but we were offered a continental breakfast of yogurt, fruit, granola bars and juice. The location was perfect and the decor was lovely. It felt like time had been turned back to a wonderful era. Lots of history displayed on the walls. We had a wonderful stay."

"The hotel is in a great location! Downtown is in front and the strait is across the street behind. Just a stone's throw away from the Ferry Terminal! It is only a 10-minute drive from the famous 50th North Latitude Monument! The hotel is quiet in a busy area and the breakfast is good. Front desk service is good! The staff is very nice ! Campbell River is a coastal town located north of 50 degrees north latitude. Warm, quiet and livable! My friend and I are both female seniors in our 70s and 80s. We didn’t drive, but took public transportation from Vancouver to come here. We originally only wanted to check in at the 50th parallel north boundary marker… After a short break at the Campbell River Comfort Inn, we will head to a smaller island ~ Quadra Island!"

"The hotel is located in a very quiet and peaceful area, making it a great place to relax. The oceanfront view is beautiful and definitely the highlight of the stay. However, cleanliness could be improved, as it did not meet expectations. There was no access to the swimming pool during the stay, which was disappointing. Additionally, the room did not have a microwave, which would have been convenient. Overall, the location and view are excellent, but some basic amenities and maintenance need attention."
