"The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk from the pier. The air conditioning works well, but the rooms are rather small, making it suitable for people who want to climb the volcano, stay overnight, and catch the boat the next morning. However, staying in a room with a view of the volcano from the window is a great advantage."

"We stayed here for three nights while visiting the island. Great hotel, super pretty and lovely plants and flowers everywhere. We were picked up from the port & dropped back after check-out which was super great. We had a sea view room at the front of the hotel with a lovely balcony & view of the beach and the ocean. The room was very clean, and breakfast was great in the mornings served on the terrace. Great espresso and loved the fresh croissants. The staff were all super friendly, attentive and were very helpful reserving us a table for dinner one night at Osservatorio. There is a lovely boutique shop attached to the hotel too, which has some great items sold by local artists/makers. The only thing about this hotel is its proximity to the beach/nightclub at the end of the strip, which is also affiliated with the hotel. We were warned at check-in that our room would be affected by noise until 3am from the club. We did stay in August during the holiday weekend and also the summer festival time, so we accepted this and just used earplugs. To be honest we didn’t get back until late from watching the volcano each night, so this didn’t bother us at all, but i would say if you are affected by noise and the nightclub has an event on, then definitely don’t book a sea view room and opt for a room at the back of the grounds! Otherwise its excellent and we had a great stay. Thanks so much. Can’t wait to return to Stromboli! Also there is a great boutique shop just down the beachfront from the hotel, Gioacchino."

"Loved this hotel. Stayed 3 nights as a family (couple with 2 teens). Beautiful apartment with character. Amazing ocean and volcano views from private terraces. Loved the small but charming swimming pool. Steps from the black sand beach and easy walk to town. Great breakfast brought to room each morning."

"Fabulous position at the sea’s edge. Great sunset and sunrises and view of the volcano from the rooftop Terrace. We had a room with a terrace. The rooms are small, but the shower is excellent. The only downside is the endless smoking by Italians alongside."

"I was with my wife to spend a few days in the wonderful Stromboli. The photos on the site are misleading and date back to a few years ago. Now the structure is almost dilapidated especially on the outside. There is no longer a restaurant, apart from the lunch which is considered rather unsatisfactory. The service and the staff are not up to par. I asked for a drink at 9:30 in the evening but I had to go and buy it outside the hotel. Too bad, the structure would be very beautiful if it were renovated."

"The Hotel Villa Petrusa has seen better days. The hostel like accommodation is very run down, not only the exterior but also the rooms. No WIFI, no possibility of any service of food & beverage (not even a breakfast!), sagging mattress, poor bathroom facilities, cockroach in the room, water kettle faulty, no replenishment of tea, coffee, noisy surroundings mainly from a nearby bar which is open until 1 am. All in all a rather disappointing experience considering the high room rate. Surprising that such a place is still rated with 3 stars. There are definitely nicer places on this beautiful island."
