"There is something about sleeping with open windows and being woken up by the sound of waves. Now add on high-thread cotton covers and a great mattress, and you've got yourself a perfect reason to stay in bed until you feel bad about not spending your few days on Bornholm. We stayed two nights at Hotel Siemsens Gaard had it not been for their delicious breakfast, we would probably have stayed in bed. On our second day, we were recommended to try to go for a swim at the Svaneke Badeklub. We were provided with a thick bathrobe and a key and had a great swim and sauna morning. The hotel offers what I'd consider minimalistic luxury and pairs it with a service level that matches that of a 5-star hotel. As a former concierge at the Marriott, I understand high service when exposed to it, and the management at Hotel Siemsens Gaard understands that without staff that has a passion for service, you miss the human touch. We look forward to our next visit to Hotel Siemsens Gaard, both for their fantastic rooms and amenities and mostly for their unique ability to make what we thought was an ordinary stay into a memorable experience."
