The Super 8 Austin DowntownCapitol Area is located on I-35 overlooking downtown and facing the Frank Erwin Center which hosts most of Austin s major concerts state and college basketball and city-wide events. Within walking distance or short cab ride is the famed Sixth Street Warehouse and Music District downtown s burgeoning business district the Austin Convention Center and the University of Texas which includes Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium and the UT UFCU DISCH-Falk Baseball Stadium and Bob Bullock Museum. Brackenridge Hospital Texas Premier Trauma and Teaching Facility is a few blocks away. Lady Bird Lake runs through the heart of the city and Barton Springs Pools is just 3 miles. Take the Duck driving tour at the information center on Sixth Street and Brazos which takes to the water in a converted vintage army transport or choose the fun and fast two wheeled Sequa Rolling Tour of downtown. Austin Bergstrom International Airport is 20 minutes away via taxi or super shuttle.
All rooms have microfridges hairdryers iron and ironing boards coffee makers and free high speed Internet access. There is a seasonal outdoor pool. We also offer free parking free local calls guest laundry and 24 hour front desk. We serve a free light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee tea and juice. There is also a small business center in the lobby area for your convenience.
There will be a 150USD cleaning fee penalty if found smoking in the rooms. ADA defined service animals are welcome at this hotel. Sorry no other pets are allowed.

GGuest UserIt was a cost-effective hotel, and the facilities were clean and well managed. Breakfast was good for the price. The room was kept clean. The only drawback was that a cockroach the size of a thumb came into the room. The hotel needs to pay more attention to pest control.

Free shuttle to and from airport which we used after returning the rental car and to get to the airport for the flight.
Lovely hotel, staff were helpful and friendly.
Used the pool at 7.30pm, it is quite shallow but was warm .
Everything was clean, there was a fridge, coffee machine and bottled water in the room as well as usual things like hairdryer and iron.

GGuest UserConsistently lovely hotel with consistently good service. The juevos rancheros I ordered and had delivered to my room were incredibly good! And the coffee was nice and strong ….. glad I asked for extra cream and sugars ! Great location near the Arboretum stores and shops at the Domain . Also close to Whole Foods, H‑E‑B grocery store, Gateway movie theater, and lots of good restaurants, many within walking distance.. Large rooms, bathroom stocked with Aveda products. (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap for hands) was a very nice touch!
The only thing I didn’t like was they have recently started charging for self parking in their uncovered lot ….. I paid $20 on 1/31/24. I don’t like that at all. Just put the price in your room rate and say free parking!

JJasper LoOur experience was solid. Here are my pros and cons
Pros: The pricing was fair. Rooms, for the most part, are clean and maintained. Rooms are spacious. The position of the aircon is good, doesn't blow straight at you like some other places. The Room didn't smell. Both the shower and sink have good water pressure. The service was solid, the lady we met was welcoming and she got straight to the point. Rooms are equipped with a microwave and fridge which is convenient. The beds are spacious and the mattress is supportive.
Cons. The carpet in the room as well as the tiles in the bathroom are a bit sticky. Not sure if that's due to the high moisture or if they are not cleaned well. Some might find it nasty. The gym only has a cable machine which is alright but some more equipment would have been much better. They advertise saying they have a great breakfast however it isn't anything crazy. Just some eggs, waffles that you have to make yourself, and some coffee. Not much variety overall. This is nitpicky, but the furniture is a bit old and could use some polish/maintenance. The biggest con for me was the location, its located right beside the frontage road which is in theory good, but during rush hour the road becomes completely jammed with cars. Especially at the time of writing this review because there is a lot of construction going on nearby so driving in and out of the residence can be dangerous and annoying.
Overall: This place is great for staying a couple nights on a short trip however I wouldn't recommend staying here long term. Its safe and has mostly everything you need.

EExpatCambria is a newer hotel amidst the redevelopment projects taking place near Rainey Street, a historic landmark of homes turned into entertainment venues. Cambria is opposite side of the spectrum with innovative decor and relaxation. Note that parking costs 49USD per day with valet access only. We chose not to rent a car based on our needs in Austin. Came to visit my son and his family with my eldest son, so we wanted to have some options near nightlife activities. Local drivers shared info on the changes made to the nearby historic street, and staff was friendly with all needs. The water statiins were a plus. Where I think Cambria can improve is in the price of the rooms, menu items and operation hours of their lobby bar/roof bar since staff was short during our stay. Walking to the entertainment street required the back alley short trek, and that aspect took away from the lush atmosphere of the hotel. Grafitti and Limestone hotel venues can easily adjust their marketung strategies towards in-house entertainment along with the Valet arrangement to flow more smoothly and affordably. It’s a lovely hotel which can become full circle staycation with a few adjustments regarding that aspect. New business developments working alongside grass roots businesses is key to smooth changes for both visitors and long-time locals. The pool atmosphere is great, the gym is clean, and the first floor waiting area an easy meeting spot.

GGuest UserQuiet and exquisite place to stay, there is a restaurant next to it, very convenient. There is also a large supermarket within a few minutes drive, the service staff is kind and the work efficiency is high. Very suitable for business trips.

GGuest UserThis is my go to when I want to stay in NW Austin. Plenty of free parking in hotel lot. Easy friendly check in. Drink coupons for free happy hour! Beautiful indoor atrium. Elevators could be a little faster or they need to always run both. Rooms are spacious and have a separate living area , kitchenette with small refrigerator, coffee service, and microwave. Bathtubs need some TLC attention or need to be replaced with walk-in showers. Terrific complimentary made to order breakfast is my favorite in Austin. This is my home away from home.
