We stayed at Prideinn Mara Camp between 23-24 January, 2024 as part of our Safari trip in Masai Mara. During the morning of our Safari, I left my reading glasses by the sink and put on my lenses, so that it would be more convenient on the bumpy safari roads or game drive as our guides called it. In the afternoon, as we got back to the camp, I noticed that my reading glasses were gone and they were nowhere to be found! Since the lighting in the room was very dim and inefficient, we had to search every single part of the room with a flashlight, but to no avail. I’m short-sighted to a high degree and wear reading glasses throughout the day. My eyes get very dry and tired after a long period of wearing lenses (due to which I wear them seldom) so the dissapearance of my reading glasses was extremely frustrating also due to health reasons - not to mention that they were expensive and tailor made. I talked to the housekeeping and front office managers about the diasappearance and all they could say was that they had spoken to the person who had tidied up our room and said that she hadn’t seen any glasses! So, my glasses had vanished into thin air and it was nowhere to be found! This ruined our night at the camp and my family and I were very stressed out due the whole ordeal. The next day, our flight was cancelled to the following day and I was stuck without my glasses for another day and afterwards a 7 hour flight back to İstanbul with extremely dry and tired eyes. Why? Because somebody did not tell the truth about what happened to the glasses and the management was not willing to investigate the situation properly. Now, it’ll cost me a good sized budget, time and inconvenience to replace the glasses, leave alone the extremely itchy and dry eyes. I believe this is a case of truly incompetent staffing and management which is enough to ruin a holiday and more. My husband was also pissed off, our children were demoralized and our stress was contagious to our friends during the remaining of our stay. I would strongly suggest that you avoid this location during your Masai Mara visit. Esra, İstanbul

The property is excellent with all facilities one could expect at a five star hotel. To find that inside the Mara was a delightful experience. Chef Juma Musili obviously lead the F&B production team to an exotic menu catering for all needs. It was very well executed by Chef Kennedy Aluvi. Of particular delight was Chef Moses Bonaya who not only made excellent pasta and pancakes at the live counter but also played excellent guitar and sang for guests. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. However no slippers and shaving kit was provided. Neither was there a safe deposit. But the bed was excellent and so was the view from window. The swimming pool provided excellent recreational facilities and also mesmerising view of sunrise over Mara. Overall the staff was very friendly and always eager to help. Two particular team member Denis Meangi and Patricia were worthy of mention. Payments only by credit cards and local currency. No US $. Lastly, Airtel network including 4G was available throughout the Masai Mara National Park!

A wonderful setting for our safari. Food was great and plentiful. We were well fed. The tent was excellent, very comfortable. Small additions and attention to detail really elevated our experience. The wake-up calls with a hot drink and cookies and turn down service with hot water bottles for example. Duncan at check in was excellent and extremely welcoming, Paul on security was also very welcoming and diligent, Ken at the bar makes great cocktails. The service from Joshua, Gala and M was also excellent at every meal time. Geoffrey was excellent also. Its a small camp and feels very personal and warm. Staff members remember your name and preferences and are very fun when serving. Our tent attendant Tiller was also excellent and very diligent. Thank you so so much for a wonderful stay to all staff! Hotel location is good, in the Masai Mara National Park, there will be a variety of animals coming to the hotel lawn in the evening, you can get up in the middle of the night to see the animals, it is amazing, the facilities are very good, the security will be escorted to the room at night, although the buffet can not let people Surprise but not bad

Fairmont Mara has extraordinary game drives, property is on the bank of the river which makes for great scenery from restaurant and all the rooms, Fairmont excells at service, we received a warmth welcome from Wilfred. He explanined everything about the property and activities. Alex did a good job serving the food and drinks as requested. The grounds give a sense of calmness and makes it super ejoyable. About game drives, we were lucky to have Reuben as our driver, he knows a lot about the different species of animals, including birds, and also the trees and plants that makes of Mara an extraordinary landscape, but most importantly, Reuben has a great sight for spotting animals and get you close to them with out chasing them away It is important for everyone to know that by staying in Fairmont a conservancy fee of USD 130 per person, per night is charged, but access to the Rhino sanctuary is included, where Reuben drove us by surprise as there are no signs of it, also, by game driving in conservacies you can off-road to get close to the animals, where as in the main Mara Park (we where there for 4 nights) you cannot off-road otherwise the driver gets a fine, so you depend on the animals to be close to the main road. Another plus of staying in Fairmont is that during game drives there is a fraction of the cars compared to the main park, which makes it that much more enjoyable. Example; with Fairmont it was 6 cars looking at a pride of 10 lions, in Mara Park, over 20 looking at 2 lions About wild life close to Fairmont Mara, we saw the big five in 2 game drives, but luck also plays a role on it, also we saw hippos walking in the plains out of the river in the morning drive When we come back to Kenya, we will stay at Fairmont Mara again, I fully recommend you do too
