Uno Port Inn

Uno Port Inn

📍 1 Chome-4-4 Chikko, Tamano
★★★ 9.0 (15 reviews)

"Honestly, if you're planning an island-hopping trip in the Seto Inland Sea, I recommend staying here. It's right across from the port. The rooms are more like a guesthouse or hostel, but the cleanliness is up to Japanese standards. It also includes a restaurant, and there's a supermarket next door. Basically, it's very convenient for island hopping trips, and importantly, there aren't many tourists taking the boats here compared to Takamatsu. The staff are all young and very friendly."

UNO HOTEL

"It’s convenient location, very clean property, have laundry with charges facilities, English speaking staff, arty property, delicious lunch at restaurant."

Diamond Setouchi Marine Hotel

Diamond Setouchi Marine Hotel

📍 2 Chome-12-1 Shibukawa, Tamano
★★★ 7.5 (24 reviews)

"The staff's smiles and smooth service made for a very pleasant experience. While it was advertised that you could see the sea from every room, I didn't expect the windows to be this large, offering such a panoramic view of the beach, the ocean, and the Seto Ohashi Bridge! I didn't have dinner, but the breakfast buffet had a good variety of options. It was delicious. I'd like to try dinner next time. I would definitely like to go again if I have the opportunity."

SETOUCHI KEIRIN HOTEL 10 by Onko Chishin

SETOUCHI KEIRIN HOTEL 10 by Onko Chishin

📍 5-18-3, Chikko, Tamano
★★★★ 9.0 (58 reviews)

"A wonderful hotel that I can confidently recommend. We stayed here after visiting Naoshima Island. It's about a 20-minute walk from Uno Ferry Port, but it's actually quite pleasant to see the surroundings. As far as I know, the hotel offers a shuttle to the station, but we didn't use it. The room was very stylish and spacious for Japan, with everything you could need. The hotel also has a communal sauna and a small museum."

Tentoumi Shibukawa Beach Glamping

Tentoumi Shibukawa Beach Glamping

📍 Shibukawa, 2 Chome−4−8 てんとうみ, Tamano
★★★★ 8.2 (4 reviews)

"I stayed overnight with a friend. There is the sea in front of you and the location is great. Since it is on a hill, depending on the tent you stay in, you have to climb considerably, so you use your physical strength. Since there is no bath, you can use the hot springs in the nearby hotel at a discounted price, but you have to be careful because the final admission is 20:30. It was very good including other services."

"I stayed the day before my trip to Naoshima! The bathroom and toilet were separate and clean, and the morning was able to choose from 3 types of muffins that can be taken back with Japanese and Western foods! !!"

Setonite

Setonite

📍 5 Chome-28-30 Tai, Tamano
★★★★★ 8.3 (3 reviews)

"The location is really hard to find; I recommend taking a taxi from Uno Station. The scenery is nice. It's best enjoyed at a leisurely pace; there are no staff after 10 PM."

UNO HOTEL ★★★★
"The hotel is well-located, with easy access to the train station and the ferry, which is convenient for visiting the Art Museum. The room was nice and the service was good. I also appreciated the restaurant, which offers a variety of dishes, including vegan options. Overall, a solid, comfortable place to stay. How does that sound to you?"

SETOUCHI KEIRIN HOTEL 10 by Onko Chishin ★★★★
"Bicycle themed hotel, close to the beach. Very new and modern, super clean rooms with comfortable bed. Snacks and Coffee in the afternoon and drop of service to the train station or port. Green and clean area all around, but for food you might want to walk to the city center."

Setonite ★★★★★
"I had kind of an odd but fun stay at Setonite, for a night stopover before heading to Naoshima. To start, I called the hotel to see if they had any space for the night, and they told me that they’re fully booked. But when I looked online, I saw rooms available, so I thought, ok, I’ll just book online, maybe it was a language barrier thing. In reality, they probably just didn’t want to deal with the stress of an English speaking guest given their English is very limited, and, at least when I was there, all of the other clientele were locals. When I got there and explained I had booked online, it appeared to cause a little mayhem, as they ran around trying to make it work. I did have to wait a while to get taken to my room, but somehow the staff seemed so nice and good natured that I couldn’t bring myself to be bothered by it. The room was a sort of glamping-style experience, serviceable but fairly basic, and I will say the guest area while nice is not quite as appealing as in the photos. It did come with a fairly stern set of rules in a laminated piece of paper, including “bedtime is 10pm!” Communicating with the staff became such a production, through non-stop use of Google translate, that the staff and I couldn’t help but laugh about it. And overall, I felt the staff were easily the best thing about the hotel - they all seemed like they were good friends with one another, a bunch of young and friendly locals that were both having fun and attending to the guests at the same time. The campfire at night (with marsh mallows provided by the hotel) was a nice touch to the experience. They made me feel at home, and I’m very grateful for their hospitality."
