"The room facilities were basic. Hot water took an extremely long time, about ten minutes, to heat up. At one point, I thought there was no hot water left, so I took a cold shower halfway through before the hot water came in. The bathroom sliding door was broken and would fall down. The room had screen windows, but wasps got in three times, I don't know how. The food quality in the restaurant was inconsistent; one time the fried noodles were delicious, but the second time I ordered noodles, they were too salty due to excessive soy sauce. The restaurant also charged me for drinks that weren't ordered. You can book tours through the hotel, but the information on their blackboard was incorrect and incomplete, making our trip rushed and regrettable. For example, at Sunset Volcano, the hotel blackboard stated the time was 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm. However, the actual time to watch the eruption at the crater was less than an hour. At 4:30 pm, all tourists signed in at the volcano area and listened to the introduction before taking a bus back in. There was also a hike, and by the time we reached the crater, it was past 5 pm. At 6 pm, the staff told everyone to come down the mountain, and we were back at the hotel by 7:30 pm. I expressed my regret to the hotel staff, and they said that if I had told them in advance, they could have let me stay on the volcano a little longer. However, when I asked the owner the next day, she said it was impossible, as everyone left at the same time. If that's the case, why didn't the hotel state that Sunset Volcano was from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm? This misled me into misjudging the duration of the eruption viewing."

"We stayed 6 days with John, Veronique and their son John Mark and were so glad we chose this small beachfront operation rather than a big resort. Great location , in small village of Lowanatum, a quick local bus ride to Lanakel Markets, shops and the Tamanu restaurant ( great pina coladas!). John really helped us a lot with our plans in the way that bigger resorts would charge a lot more for. He arranged the volcano tour, Port Resolution, Yakel Kastom village and even a cooking lesson because I wanted to know how to make the Vanuatu snack Simboro. His wife Veronique arramged an inpromtu dancing display from her womens dancing group.We also paid a visit to the local Kava bar 🤪 If we had not ended up here i think out visit to Tanna would have been a lot more difficult and expensive - a little gem of a place. P.S. if you are visiting from UK bring an England soccer shirt, he supports them, and soccer is huge on Tanna. P.s."
