"Fabulous hotel for wedding anniversary celebration. We received a really warm welcome and our room was ready early. We booked the lowest priced room but it was so comfortable and had a lovely walk in shower. The hotel is situated in stunning grounds and gardens which were lovely to walk around or simply sit and relax in. The highlights of the stay were the amazing staff and service and the excellent food. We had lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast and could not fault anything. Simply superb!!"

"This is a charming spot that exudes a warm welcome and is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day on the moor. It's my second stay here, having turned up both times absolutely shattered from wandering around Dartmoor and looking for a comfortable place to spend the night. I don't think I could find anywhere more inviting. Both of the rooms I've stayed in have been exquisitely appointed with lots of attention to detail. The whole house is so warm and comforting that it's very hard to leave in the mornings! I only had a brief meeting with Jack, the owner, but he took the time to stop and say hello and make sure everything was tickety-boo... which, of course, it was. On my previous visit, a few years ago now, my friends and I turned up like drowned rats after walking for many hours in the rain. Iain and Jack were super thoughtful and looked after us so well that my first thought was to stay here when I was next in town. I will definitely be coming back and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area."

From the beautiful building and welcoming staff to the cleanliness, comfort and fabulous service this hotel is a must visit. I’d like this review to specifically praise the food we were served throughout our visit. Fine dining doesn’t give it justice. The food served is exquisite. The highest level of artistry, taste and quality is second to none. Some of the dishes served in the fabulous, incredibly good value for money taster menu were almost too good to eat. It is unusual to actually talk to the chef and creator of the feast but here he came out to ensure that all the offerings were suitable, and adapted the menu to suit our tastes. You just have to go and see for yourself that in no way have I exaggerated my review. We will back! Thank you to each and everyone of the staff for all your hard work."

"We stayed for 2 nights in room 7. The room was beautifully decorated and felt so luxurious. The bed was very comfy and the room had a Nespresso coffee machine and pods. Fresh milk was supplied in the fridge every day. We were welcomed by Shelley (I believe this was her name) and she was so lovely and made us feel at home straight away. If you looking to stay somewhere special this is definitely the place, thank you so much."
