"Fantastic location - easy walk to the Gondola and bars/restaurants/shopping in town. The room was somewhat dated but very comfortable. The sheets and towels were soft. The toilet was a little slow in flushing, but that's to be expected in an older building. We took advantage of the breakfast every morning. It was simple but appreciated. Would recommend staying here if looking for no frills, but great location to take in the town."

""Dated" is an interesting word that might mean different things to different people. But to the frequent traveler it simply means - "old" and "worn out". Such is the place that the once staple of Telluride Mountain Village hotels - The Fairmont Franz Klammer - finds itself in 2025. While it's had plans for renovations for some years, none have come to fruition. Meanwhile, the thin doors - which loudly trumpet the many children running down the halls - and worn decor and musty and mildew smells just keep reminding you that this place is in desperate need of a face lift if not total and complete tear down. That's not to say that its location and proximity to amazing skiing isn't the best in Telluride. It is. Also, the staff and management seem to be trying their best to make good out of a difficult, if not, insurmoutable situation. With the Madeline next door under constant renovation while consistently raising prices and the new Four Seasons on the way - the Franz hasn't much more time to waste... "

"Dunton Town House is in the ultimate Telluride location—steps from both Main Street and the gondola. I first toured this property years ago when it had just opened, and was wowed by the interiors and setting. Staying here this week proved it is not only charming aesthetically, but truly a dream to call home with all the anticipated services and comforts one would desire on a getwaway. Our second-floor room was stunning, complete with pitched ceilings, a balcony, and an incredibly spacious bath. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the beautiful decor and fine linens to the plush Dunton robes. The common areas feel residential and welcoming, complete with a magically restocked fridge of chilled drinks. Bill was our host and could not have been more accommodating with showing us around, setting up our street parking access, getting breakfast at the nearby Baked in Telluride, and answering any questions regarding local intel. I also loved borrowing a cruiser bike for a ride around town. Exceptional service and a truly wonderful family stay!"
