"The hotel is really nice, good location and nice front yard. Breakfast was good but nothing out of this world. The room was good enough though the wifi was a bit week on the top floor. All in all I would have given it a 4/5 if it wasn’t for the reason that the hotel hadn’t reserved the bicycles i expressed and interest in reserving. They also only had two bikes which wasn’t mentioned on their website. Also one of the was broken. We had planned our trip according to being able to bike. Disappointing to say the least. Tournai isn’t the most touristy location so there where no other rental spaces open (vacation times) and the only one we found was also out of bikes. If we knew that the hotel only had two bikes we could plan in advance. What was most disappointing is the hotel’s lack of action in this situation. They offered us that the boss would drive us to an activity we had booked… which was not something we felt comfortable with and had planned. They asked us to run around the city looking for alternatives. No offer of compensation or a gesture either. Being able to turn a negative into at least a neutral or something positive for a guest is so important in hospitality. Sadly the staff didn’t have that ability which knocks my review down to a 3. I gave this feedback in person as well."

Auberge de Jeunesse de Tournai - Youth Hostel ★★
"A cost of 50 euros per day in a single room may seem OK in a country in which hotels of all levels are very, very expensive, especially since the breakfast was OK. But for the cyclist that I was (18-day trip all along the Belgian border, from the Luxembourg border to the North Sea, with 3/4 of the nights spent in a sleeping bag, without a tent - fortunately the time was appropriate - the situation experienced in this inn was unacceptable. I am content here to copy part of the letter that I sent on my return to France to the Tournai tourist office (which had recommended this to me. accommodation) and at the head office of the Belgian youth hostels in Brussels // It was in fact absolutely impossible for me to sleep during the nights spent (so = 100 euros) due to the presence of a group of around fifty young people. less young people "supervised" as part of an integration course with a civic aim (?) They continued the first night to slam the doors of their rooms and the corridors accessing them with rare violence, all the while. amusing loudly on the ground floor of the building, this obviously in flagrant violation of the instructions posted everywhere requiring quietude from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. The leaders of this group contacted during breakfast seemed to find this situation completely normal and did nothing to prevent this process from starting again the following night, with even more violence, no doubt in retaliation on the part of these young people who appeared to me to be authentic social cases. The director of the establishment, a little more correct, offered me, in response to my astonishment at having to experience such an "adventure" in one of the tourist towns of Belgium, a credit (inappropriate given my distant place of residence) , or to spend a third night in their establishment at the price of a collective room (27 euros), but without in any way committing to any possibility of finally sleeping peacefully and therefore recovering. In these conditions I judged it more prudent to resume my journey towards the north and sleep again in the forest in my very comfortable OPEX sleeping bag, knowing that there at least I would have peace, which was the case. In total 100 euros "squandered" for almost nothing (apart from 2 showers). Consequently I believe that it would be appropriate for this "hostel" to lower its prices for isolated travelers with limited finances; either warns them preventively of the risks they run in (not) sleeping there), or refuses their admission and their money (that would be more frank...) // The icing on the cake, the "managers" of the head office of the Belgian youth hostels did not even respond to my letter (the Tournai OT who received a photocopy of it and responded to me, but simply expressing their wish that everything would be resolved to my advantage). Conclusion: in Belgium it is still better to pay a lot for an authentic hotel..."

Hotel d'Alcantara ★★★
"We were very pleased to have found this hip little hotel, which is very centrally located in Tournai, for a midweek overnight stay. We received a great welcome from the reception team, and were introduced to our own personal 'Disco'. (The name of our room.) The hotel was just a short walk away from the main square, which offered lots of bars and eating opportunities. There was no problem gaining access to the hotel later on in the evening, as some other reviewers have commented. We spent a comfortable night, though being on the ground floor meant that we did get a bit of noise from the street, though not enough to disturb us significantly. Breakfast was very good, with excellent pastries. A big plus for us was being able to park the motorbike in the hotel's small courtyard, which was secured overnight, by arrangement."

Ferme Delgueule ★★★
"Lovely setting, beautiful grounds; a working farm with 300-year origins now incorporating a well-organised 12-room hotel and upmarket restaurant, open daily - whether or not you're staying. The rooms are modern, with very good showers ensuite. But there's no aircon, and the reception was unable to provide us (or others who also asked) with fans, even during the scorching summer 2026 heatwaves... something the hotel will need to consider in future as, at around £115 a room per night, it should be addressed. However, the charm of being on a farm (with impressive polytunnels and tractor buildings to explore) is slightly undermined by cattle grazing mere metres from the rooms. The unspoken issue at the Ferme is flies. They're everywhere. The open restaurant with its high vaulted room and wide doors allowing a through breeze mean flies are constantly buzzing around your food. If you open the windows in the hotel rooms, in they come. If you keep them closed, it gets very hot in summer. Very good food, however - gourmet standard, with a comprehensive wine selection and well-stocked bar with free nibbles served. I'd go back, but maybe out of the hot season when - hopefully - the flies won't be so plentiful."
