"The room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was big and clean. I was quite satisfied. When we arrived at 12 noon, we asked if we could check in, so we checked in early. We checked out at 11 the next day, but my daughter hadn't dressed yet, so we went downstairs to hand in the room card and told the front desk that my daughter was still in the room. The front desk said it was okay. Americans are very friendly. I saw someone walking their dog, so I talked to the front desk and they said that you can bring your pet to any room in the United States, and there is no designated pet room. It's great."

"We loved our stay at the Tahoe Star Hotel! We took the train and did not plan on renting a car. The location was directly across from the station and located right in the heart of Truckee. We arrived very late due to a 9 hour train delay. Emma stayed in contact with me starting the day before our trip. Although we did not anticipate the delay, Emma gave us clear directions on what to do if we arrived late. We let ourselves in, but due to it being so late didn’t get to see much. The next day we hopped on a TART bus and frolicked around town while stopping by the room a few times for sock changes as we happened to vacation after a very substantial snow fall. The hotel rooms are very modern and cute, but you still get that antique charm. There was a coffee and tea bar, a vending machine, and snacks provided in the lobby. It was very easy from booking the room to checking out. We enjoyed reading about the history of the Hotel that was provided in a directory/info booklet in the room! Overall we loved this place and is we are ever back in Truckee we know where we are staying!"

"This is not a cottage, it's a large and substantially built Tahoe home with full garage and long driveway. Rooms are very spacious, and it was perfect for our stay as my son got married at The Timbers at Old Greenwood wedding venue (about a 5 min walk to the venue, gym and swimming pool. The Timbers wedding venue is a stunning location on the edge of the golf course and view of Northstar. It was clean, quiet, spacious and modern, including a nice gas fireplace and bbq on the deck. There are King size beds in each of the bedrooms in the 3 bedroom cottage, and bathrooms(3.5 baths)were nice too. 5 stars"
