Definitely an amazing hotel. The hotel was worth every cent. I loved that I was able to get an international plug when I needed one and that the staff was always willing to help. The breakfast OMG!!! Never seen or tasted anything more delicious. The variety of food and service from staff was a absolutely exceptional !!!!

Forget that super fancy, very expensive hotel next door. You know the one. Stay here instead. The Beverly Hills is fantastic, and the location can’t be beat. We could walk to restaurants and feel very safe. The boardwalk / beachfront was connected to the hotel property (with a security guard offering cold water upon our return). There’s free parking on site, and the pool area, with shaded lounge chairs, is upscale and relaxing. The breakfast options were so ample and varied that it took us several walk-throughs just to determine what we should have (or where we should start!). The room was very pleasant, with robes, nice linens, and a convenient patio with table and chairs for comfortable ocean and people watching. We also had a perfect view of the gorgeous lighthouse. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience, and the Beverly Hills gave us everything we wanted or needed at a much more reasonable rate than the Oyster place next door. We can’t recommend the Beverly Hills highly enough!

Our stay at Southern Sun Maharani overlooking Durban North Beach was a delightful escape. The room's design allowed us to enjoy breathtaking coastal views, seamlessly integrating with the stunning backdrop. The well-appointed interiors created a cozy retreat, enhancing our overall experience. The convenience of being close to Durban North Beach allowed for spontaneous beachside strolls. The hotel's commitment to exceptional service from friendly and attentive staff contributed to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The soothing sounds of the ocean and play of sunlight on the waves became captivating aspects of our stay. Southern Sun Maharani's location and service ensured a memorable coastal retreat. The overall experience left us eager to return to this exceptional beachside haven.

Had a very wonderful stay and for the first time, the place is clean and also the location is great. First time getting there during breakfast, the service was not the same, but then at a later stage that was fixed and there was equality.

The team was very welcoming , starting from the security officer at the entrance. He ensured that we felt safe and welcomed. The reception staff was amazing , very friendly people indeed . Our room was very neat , and housekeeping team made sure that i remained clean throughout our stay .

Location is good enough if you are conducting business in and around the city of Durban and not expecting anything more than a very basic 3 star experience. Even so, the value for money is not great. Rooms are clean, but need a little TLC here and there. Colleagues said their beds were very uncomfortable, but I clearly got lucky, as my bed was very comfortable. If you order from the a la carte menu, be prepared to wait a long time for your food to arrive. Same applies to drinks orders. Seems as if they were still on skeleton staff post Covid, or maybe they were unprepared for the influx of people attending Indaba. IMO, City Lodge is much better value for money.

From the minute you arrive it feels like you in another country. Warm welcome, early Check in, welcome drinks and list goes on! We stayed 5 nights and did not bother this time around with sea facing room. Garden room is just as Nice and private( and bigger). Breakfast everyday was a feast with Letho being our waitress. She is amazing!! Management check in from Kishen, Jamail, and Roberto is very kind. The hotel really goes beyond imagination to make sure your stay is special. Very nice Easter vibe was created with small gift and lovely display. Peronella made our holiday super comfortable as she was baby sitting our little boy- she is a champion!! I do recommend her over and over! If I had to criticise somewhere, then it would be service during lunch time can improve. The food is in general nice during lunch and live entertainment a bonus! This hotel is seriously doing something right if you compare them to the other high end 5 stars in the county! Roberta and team you deserve a lot of credit! Well done! Thx and see you soon!!

Arrived at the place and did not get the room I booked they told me it was taken by other people. Our room had no mirror and no tv, the air-con was not working and it was cold. Checkout is very early 10:00 in the morning which wasn’t easy. Other than that I will give the place a 5:10 great for over night stay and leave in the morning.

Located at Gateway shopping mall allowing access to everything you need. The rooms are well designed and spacious apartments. We'll equipped with the required items. Breakfast caters for all your needs. Weekday dinner specials are well priced. Staff are super friendly.
