Ryokan Yoshidaya
8.8 (101 reviews)

Ryokan Yoshidaya ★★★★

📍 Ureshinomachi Oaza Iwayagawachi, Ko−379 旅館吉田屋, Ureshino

"Loved the private onsen experience! Breakfast was especially delicious, highly recommend not skipping it for sleeping in, the tofu porridge is something I’ll crave forever. If you’re arriving by train, there’s a guest info center next to the train station where you can ask them to call the property to pick you up! Very convenient. Room was immaculate with lots of amenities. Felt incredibly pampered. Location is a little far off from the convenience shops, but there are a number of things to sight-see and nice restaurants within 30mins walking distance."

📍 machi Oaza Iwayagawachi 333, Ureshino

"It's convenient for enjoying the hot springs all day long, and it's perfect for a quiet vacation in a quiet rural village. While there aren't many restaurants, they're generally within walking distance, so there's no problem eating and resting. I plan to come back again next time I travel with my family."

"Very comfortable and chill! Satisfied! The onsen on the tenth floor was amazing! 👏 The location is also excellent; it's within walking distance of a century-old tofu shop and very close to Toyotama-hime Shrine, super convenient!"

📍 Ureshinomachi Oaza Shimono, Ko 33, Ureshino

"The water in Ureshino Onsen is really good. It is the best hot spring I have ever taken in Japan. My skin is smooth after taking a bath. The room is also very good. Compared with hot spring hotels in Hokkaido, Atami and Hakone, the room is a little old. But the rest is still the same Japanese service~"

Saga Ureshino Spa Shiibasanso

Saga Ureshino Spa Shiibasanso ★★★★

📍 Otsu-1586 Ureshinomachi Ōaza Iwayagawachi, Ureshino

"The hotel service is first-class, the environment is quiet, the hot spring is surrounded by mountains, and you can hear the gurgling water while soaking in the hot spring, which is very special. The food was of a very high standard and both morning and evening meals were delicious. Will stay again."

Wataya Besso

Wataya Besso ★★★

📍 Otsu-738 Ureshinomachi Oaza Shimojuku, Ureshino

"I stayed for one night at Suimeiso, an annex of Wataya Bessho. It is the most expensive room type at Wataya Bessho, and there are three main grades within Suimeiso. What sets it apart from other room types is that it features a private hot spring bathtub in the room, in-room dinner and breakfast service, free access to paid public baths, and a private stay. Additionally, complimentary tea and coffee are provided in the lounge area next to the room. You can enjoy a view that feels like a private garden, and a river flows right in front, allowing you to hear the sound of the water 24 hours a day. If you particularly enjoy nature, you will not regret choosing the Suimeiso annex. If the price is a concern, Kachoen, which is one grade lower, is a good alternative. As expected of a luxury ryokan, the quality of service and meals goes without saying. Furthermore, they offer a free shuttle service after check-out, so you can use it if needed. They also provide free beverage coupons per guest, and there is a souvenir shop in the lobby, so it is worth browsing and making a purchase."

"We had a very bad experience at this ryokan. We had booked a room with a river view for 2 nights. They gave us the wrong room, much smaller and without a view. I had to negotiate for 30 minutes with the manager on the phone to get her to give us the room we had booked for our second night. We received no compensation from the establishment for the inconvenience. We were very disappointed because this place is truly unworthy of Japanese standards. The hotel has no charm, the rooms have no decoration and no soul, it's a shame for the price you pay. In addition, there are no showers!! There are only showers in the public onsen, which is forbidden to people with tattoos... so if you have tattoos or are not comfortable with showering naked in front of everyone, you simply cannot wash! The river view room is still nice, but only because of the view. They provide a 2L bottle of water and there is no water dispenser. Access to the private "small onsen" costs 1500 yen but you can barely sit in it for two people because it is so small. It is a rip-off. We were expecting a real Japanese experience in the pretty little town of Ureshino but that was not the case at all."

Ryokan Yoshidaya ★★★★
"The staff there were incredibly helpful and friendly, but the best of all is the texture of the natural hot spring water. It makes your skin feel so smooth after each soak. I stayed in two hotels in Ureshino, this one and Ureshino Yadoya. Although I loved the latter hotel, I personally felt the quality of the hot spring water is better at Yoshidaya."

"It had been a while since I'd been to a hot spring, so I was very satisfied. I also appreciated the complimentary tea after my bath. The meal was good, but I wish there had been more yudofu (boiled tofu)."

"The room is small, and it was a bit crowded for three people. The view outside the window was very nice, with a small waterfall. The dinner was mediocre, but the buffet breakfast was amazing. The staff was basically very enthusiastic. We were sent to Ureshino JR Station when we checked out."

Ureshino Onsen Yoshidaya Uchiroji Hondori ★★★★
"I booked a room with a private bath on the 4th floor about half a year ago, and finally made it to Ureshino Onsen! Even with the new bullet train station, it's still a rural onsen town in Saga. From the station to the onsen town and main street, it's about a 5-6 minute drive or a 20-minute walk. I suppose walking and enjoying the rustic charm of the countryside could be nice. If you have a room with a private bath, you might not even need to visit the public bath. Bathing in the onsen while gazing at the mountains and feeling the breeze is truly exceptional."

Fairfield by Marriott Saga Ureshino Onsen ★★★
"Overall, this hotel is decent. It's conveniently located right below Ureshino Onsen Station, which is a plus. However, the lack of nearby restaurants and convenience stores is quite inconvenient. I'd actually recommend staying in Takeo Onsen instead, as it's a better area. On the bright side, the hotel staff are quite good; they were able to provide some useful information and recommendations, which was nice. Still, there's room for improvement."
