"It's a bit far from the JR station. Since I didn't make an appointment in advance for the hotel to pick me up at the station, I had to walk there (I give full marks to the staff at Kobe Station back then. The staff at Ureshino Onsen Station was indifferent) I booked a one-night stay with two meals. The room was the largest in this Japan trip. It also looked newly renovated. The food was generally good. The hot spring was a bit small. There were indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor scenery was not as beautiful as that of Kobe back then. I thought the Japanese service was superb, but when I checked in, they didn't even deliver my luggage to the room. I don't know if it's the same in Japan. But when I checked out, there was a free station delivery service. Overall, this stay was good. Next time I'm going to try Beppu Onsen"

"This hotel belongs to the same group as the Yoshidaya hotel on the street across the street. I stayed at the Yoshidaya Onsen Hotel the night before and this onsen tavern the second night. This onsen tavern has no staff and is entirely self-service. I encountered some difficulties checking in and couldn't enter the hotel. I had to ring the doorbell to contact a Yoshidaya staff member and communicate in basic English. He remotely opened the door for me. However, due to a name issue, I couldn't check in myself and had to wait for a staff member to come and help. Because it's very close to Yoshidaya, the staff member came to help within minutes. Despite some difficulties checking in, the overall experience at this hotel was good. The rooms were large, and the hotel had free parking. The onsen water flow was slightly slower than at Yoshidaya. Breakfast consisted of a sandwich and a drink, which you had to get yourself downstairs. If you want to enjoy a private onsen bath in your room at a cheaper price, you can stay here, but don't expect any staff to serve you."

"This is a traditional hot spring inn with a charming vintage feel. It was very clean and well-maintained. The Chinese-speaking receptionist was friendly and provided attentive service. The location is excellent, close to the shopping street and not far from the bus stop. The dinner was very plentiful and delicious; I would definitely stay here again."

"I was shown to a different type of room than the one I reserved. I asked to change it, but they said it was impossible because they were fully booked. Since it was a similar room, I had no choice but to stay in the room that was prepared for me, but if it was a completely different room, how would they handle it? They said it was a misunderstanding with the reservation site, but from my perspective, it was disappointing because I had taken my time to choose the room and decide on it."

Ureshino Onsen Kotobukiya

"We had a very bad experience at this ryokan. We had booked a room with a river view for 2 nights. They gave us the wrong room, much smaller and without a view. I had to negotiate for 30 minutes with the manager on the phone to get her to give us the room we had booked for our second night. We received no compensation from the establishment for the inconvenience. We were very disappointed because this place is truly unworthy of Japanese standards. The hotel has no charm, the rooms have no decoration and no soul, it's a shame for the price you pay. In addition, there are no showers!! There are only showers in the public onsen, which is forbidden to people with tattoos... so if you have tattoos or are not comfortable with showering naked in front of everyone, you simply cannot wash! The river view room is still nice, but only because of the view. They provide a 2L bottle of water and there is no water dispenser. Access to the private "small onsen" costs 1500 yen but you can barely sit in it for two people because it is so small. It is a rip-off. We were expecting a real Japanese experience in the pretty little town of Ureshino but that was not the case at all."
