"Having wanted to visit the restaurant Pic in Valence for many years we finally made it this summer. We stayed for just one night in the hotel and we ate in the gastronomic restaurant. The experience was truly exceptional, from the moment we arrived to our departure. Our room was upgraded but this was not mentioned by the reception on our arrival, although I did of course realise when I saw the spacious room with outside seating area /terrace and beautiful marble bathtub (as well as standalone shower). Everything inside and outside the hotel is perfectly maintained and all members of staff go out of their way to ensure that their guests have a wonderful time. We expected the food in the 3 star restaurant to be amazing and it genuinely exceeded our expectations. The chef and her team manage to create exquisite masterpieces with (mostly) relatively simple ingredients. Although a huge amount of thought clearly goes into the presentation of each dish , there is no question of style taking precedence over substance. My allergies and food preferences were accounted for with no fuss, every morsel of food was bursting with flavour, the wine pairing was excellent, all local wines as we wished, each one pairing perfectly with the dish it accompanied. The relatively young team worked seamlessly together and managed to balance an extremely efficient service with a genuine and friendly interest in their guests . We felt that every member of the team truly enjoyed their work and wanted their guests to have a wonderful experience. We have eaten in a number of other 3 star establishments and I would have no hesitation in saying that this was by far the most enjoyable experience. Yes it is expensive but it genuinely feels like good value."

"Hotel booked for night to Spain with other couples. Good staff behind the reception, which you wanted to help. Trying to speak English well. Hotel looks old and the maintenance is a little behind. Our room was clean and smoke to paint, they are renovating. The toilet wasn't very good, and the shower can be used to a nice turn. However, very good sleeping and good beds with enough room in the bedroom. Room from the other couple smoked to ‘smoking' and had a loose-seating crane. Breakfast was ‘oK' but had better been able. Broads and eggs are fine and good to eat. The plates and coats had to take them a little while so it was cleaner for eyes. And we did not dare eat the meat, which looked a little old, and the cakes that were there were very good, even though they were a few days over date (but we are not the most difficult). It's a good place for a night, but it doesn't expect all the luxury mentioned there."
