Traveling to the hotel we got a call from the front desk informing us they had elevator problems and wanted to know if we needed to be on ground floor.We did and they put us on ground floor.Great place to stay from phone calls to check in the staff were wonderful to work with.The rooms were spacious ,clean and the bed was firm which made for a good night sleep.The staff was friendly and helpful.Breakfast was very good.

Convenient transportation, everything is OK, the bathroom has plenty of hot water and the bed is comfortable. But I found that there is a cockroach on the TV table. The breakfast is very rich and delicious. There are three kinds of fruits and many types of bread. Each of them is specially wrapped.

We really did enjoy our stay at this hotel. The lobby was very nice, even though we paid an additional $20.00 per dog x4 they made it very accommodating for us. We were able to eat our dinner in the courtyard with all 4 dogs and not have to leave them in our room. They had a little outdoor patio area off our room for them to do their business without having to leave the room. Other guests we spoke with are frequent fliers at the El Capitan and had nothing but good things to say about the hotel. For dinner we had the hotels rib eye steak and mashed potato's with grilled asparagus. As an appetizer we had the garden salad and the El Capitan salad both very good. The restaurant split our 14% rib eye for us with a small charge of $2.50 for extra mashed potato's which was well worth it. We were traveling from California to Georgia and are very grateful that hotels like Van Horn even allow more than 2 dogs. We LOVE our pups and traveling with then can become very challenging when some places have a two dog maximum.

Nice hotel. Room was nice. 50.00 Pet friendly, pet area on one side of the hotel had grass and a nice pet set-up with bags and garbage available. Pet area on the other side of the hotel was very full of stickers and cramped. Breakfast was standard items and nicely laid out. Plan ahead for your evening meal, the rest of town is smaller and a couple miles from the hotel. Several likely looking places but we had some leftovers and had gotten in a bit late.
