"Had a great stay at this Resort, we were visiting friends in and around the Vaal Triangle having lived in the area for 12 years from 2008. this was our second stay at this hotel, it has undergone extensive renovations since our first visit. Our room was on the ground floor and was very comfortable, we were on BB rate. The hotel was very clean and fresh. The restaurant was very good serving a buffet breakfast and evening meals, there are several restaurants within the resort, Gas Monkey is worth a mention, and several more a short drive to either the Riverside Mall, 1 km, Ocean Basket is excellent, or Vaal Mall 2.5km with lots of variety The ground are well kept, it is a pleasant walk down to the Vaal river within the grounds, game roams freely around the grounds. An outdoor swimming pool and bar, and a spa all within the hotel grounds. There are several attractions within the resort that will keep the youngster occupied. You do need to hire a car in South Africa, we hired from the airport, it can be daunting driving in and around Johannesburg, keep to the main roads. They drive on left same as UK, awareness is the key to remaining safe, fuel is served to you, I would not recommend any public transport, there are some reputable Taxis but I have seldom used them."

"We had an unexpected setback during our visit when two family members were injured while we were waiting for our rooms. It was a stressful moment, but the deputy manager, Lebo, handled everything with such professionalism, care, and genuine concern that it completely changed our experience for the better. She immediately called an ambulance and ensured we were comfortable! Lebo went above and beyond to assist us, ensuring we were comfortable and well-looked-after, and even upgraded us to make our stay easier during the circumstances as our rooms were a distance from my parents! Her compassion and quick action made a huge difference, and we are incredibly grateful. Despite the incident, the level of service we received—especially from Lebo—was outstanding. Riverside Sun is lucky to have someone like her on their team, and we’ll definitely return because of the exceptional care we received."

"I am writing to formally raise a complaint about my recent experience at The Waterfront Country Lodge. During my visit today the 26 February 2026 time 16:30 pm, I ordered a T-bone steak. Upon receiving the meal, I discovered that the steak was rotten. I immediately brought this to the attention of the staff. While the meal was voided, I was not offered a replacement dish or any alternative option. Instead, I was informed that it was the kitchen staff’s lunch time, and as a result, I was left without a meal and had to leave the premises. I find this situation extremely concerning for two reasons: The serious issue of serving spoiled food, which raises health and safety concerns. The lack of appropriate customer service in resolving the matter. I expected that the situation would have been handled more professionally, with an apology and an offer to replace the meal or accommodate me in some way. I kindly request a formal response addressing this matter, including what corrective measures will be implemented to ensure this does not happen again. I look forward to your prompt response.
